Reminds me, I realize this thread can sometimes get quite technical (but believe me, it could get way more deep into the weeds with what I follow outside this thread, e.g. - http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/...orweb/2018Jun/) so here I like to mix it up sometimes with the Top Gun: Maverick filmmaking with affiliated cast members/institutions/companies and their products with things people might find easier to understand, e.g.

Anyway, back to the point, for a while, I’ve been meaning to commend you on the work you’ve done compiling info on your thread -> https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=293133 . Good job, because as I said our thread here can sometimes become quite technical and may intimidate those new to HDR and I think your thread does a good service. One thing that you may what to consider though, is that even though I know you don’t mean to disrespect anyone, might be better to change the ‘Dummies’ in the title to something like Newbies or Neophytes.

Just a minor suggestion; otherwise, well done and keep it up.

The 'dummies' thing is a play on those humourous "xxxx for Dummies" books so I say leave it as it is, it's not intended to offend.

, I know that, which is why I explicitly said above “even though I know you don’t mean to disrespect anyone”, one has to take into consideration the culture in which we now live (and make sure you play to the end to learn what the last interviewee did for a living) -

And on that note, just in case Jimmy’s people ever happen to confront me when I’m walking down the street in Hollywood, my current leisurely reading material consists of 3 books (each which I have in printed form at the different homes we keep, as I like to feel the book and turn the pages) –

Excuse, if anyone has already posted this on some other thread around here, but having linked in the above post, a listserv involving a past conversation including current and former employees of the BBC (Simon and Tim), I’m reminded of this news from today in case anyone missed it -

Thank you for your encouragement and suggestion. I considered changing the Title, but I have referenced it by Title many times on the AVS forum and would be difficult to change now. It generates many positive comments there. I use this thread a lot to my own benefit to keep track of useful information for this dummy.

In the OP I have added “Click spoiler to show book:"

lol, given the rampant immature tribalism between AV forums, and for that matter, even between threads/subforums on the same forum, be it AVS, Blu-ray.com or whatever, I’d bet you don’t receive many ‘likes’ or ‘thank yous’ for your efforts.

But don’t let the lack of acknowledgment deter your mission …..
for it just emphasizes the close-mindedness of those readers who I think are only interested in expressing their own opinions because nobody at home or at their work listens to what the hell they have to say on a daily basis . I’ll tell you though, the one place I personaly feel powerless in California is once I walk thru the doors of my local DMV even with a so-called ‘appointment’.

On a general physical media note, this particular Blu-ray box set isn’t doing poorly either (see the WBHE press release)…..

which rates a new awareness trailer…..

‘bout that
I think the groundskeepers watching were just relieved that the F-18 didn’t do a Touch N Go.

Eh, I don't mind tempering things but the "culture in which we now live" is too goddamned soft by half.

We live in soft-half countries. ...We adapt as a human species, that's what we excels the best @...adaptation.
