Side rant...when two, distinct cuts of a film have been released previously on home media, I get annoyed when studios elect to release only one version for BD. Almost Famous suffers from this issue. For how to do it right, see The Exorcist digibook. |

I'm all for extended/Director's cuts but they should *always* release a film as it was in theaters as well. If you can't branch it, include or sell it separately on another disc. |

![]() Another well done version (a fix, actually) was Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. There were two DVDs with different extras. They put out a Blu with only one DVD's extras - I was bummed - but then for the combo, they included the other DVD with the other extras! Perfect! (Goof, do you want an entry for Lock, Stock even though it's a better US version? i.e. US 1-disc / US combo, more extras) |

![]() ...but the database has the incorrect image (as of 26 March, 4:10 pm PST). I'll scan mine and upload it and it should be updated in a day or two. It's the US Blu-ray combo: BD/DVD/digital copy. (Note: neither Blu has great PQ. Lock Stock was micro budget, shot on 16mm in some low-light situations. It's a grain-fest. I just wanted all the extras.) |

Does anyone know which releases are superior in AQ, PQ & OAR? Are there any better releases available that are either Region Free or Region B compatible? I'm happy to mix and match to get the best version of each.

Walk the Line definately should be on this list as the UK version is a 2 Disk edition and has the extended cut - the second disk has a song jukebox (with HD audio) with all the full musical numbers!!
The US version is a 1 disk with theatrical cut. |

I'm not so sure. We are above 30+ Mbps already with no dnr/filtering what so ever so don't see how the PQ could get better. But it is indeed interesting argument and I would like to see the FR disc to see what they did with it.
