IMO, the Eureka version of Harakiri looks better than the Criterion.

The Criterion is a little too artificially sharpened to a point where you can even see halos, like the right side of the head here:

http://www.caps-a-holic.com/hd_vergl...ss=1#vergleich

Plus the Eureka shows more information on the right and left sides of the frame:

http://www.caps-a-holic.com/hd_vergl...ss=1#vergleich

And even a little at the bottom:

It's not a director's cut. It's an extended cut.

That is correct. I believe the preferred cut is the theatrical version found on the American Blu-ray, though the extended cut released on the UK BD fleshes out a few more things.

Any info on what exactly extended edition means? An extended cut of the film, or more extras, or both? Any info on when this will be available?

Cheers

Default The Wild Geese (1978)

Any suggestion on which edition to choose? The recently published US version by Severin or the UK one by Arrow? I know the US edition has plenty of extras, but I'm more interested in PQ. Are these recent Arrow and Severin publications an improvement in PQ over the older German edition?
I think I read somewhere that the last few minutes of the movie were poor quality on the earlier German edition, as if those last few minutes were lifted over from the DVD or a completely different print. Is this still the case with these new editions?

Thanks!

Default Haywire (2011)

Which edition to choose? US, UK, DE? The US edition has 30+ video bitrate, has the UK edition the same transfer?

I agree. This is reason enough to bold the U.K. release. I also updated the entry.

Thanks, great news, then I will definitely wait for that extended edition. I liked the movie, more of it would be great...
