There is no 48 gbps cable. The most current cables can only go up to 22 gbps. Why would Panasonic do a patch for LG tho? If the lack of compatibility is on the LG side why would it become Panasonic’s job?

Try to set the output of the Panasonic to 10-bit priority, 4:2:2, 24fps mode to auto. See if that makes a difference.

Disconnect the player's power cord from the AC wall outlet.

Turn the unit on.
Press and hold [OK], the [Y - Yellow] button and the [B - Blue] button on the remote control at the same time for more than 5 seconds. “00 RET” is displayed on the unit’s display.
Press [►] right repeatedly on the remote control until “08 FIN” is displayed on the unit’s display.
Press and hold [OK] for more than 5 seconds.

I don't know much about the HDMI specs besides what they advertise (18 gbps and 48gbps for 2.0 and 2.1, respectively) so can someone elaborate? I don't quite understand how eARC and HFR can be output if the cables are pretty much outputting the same amount of bandwidth. Would whatever is advertised as 2.0 18gbps output 4k120 with atmos/dts x via eARC, or do we simply not have the cables that support those yet? Just want to learn.

The manual is wrong. Instead of turning it on, turn it OFF.

So I was trying to play an MKV file on this today for the first time and it wouldn't play in 24fps. Is it something im doing wrong or can it just not do that?

I guess they need to firmware patch this.. anyone else having problems? Even tried reconnecting them.
Is HDR turned ON in player's settings?

If you have The Meg then that's a great one to test because there's some nutty 4000+ nit stuff in that. There's a shot in the conference room (early-ish, when they're debating how to get to the crippled sub) with bright bright skies visible through the windows behind them. Both the HDR10 layer and the OPPO's DV representation are able to reproduce all of the available information in the sky, but the Panny clips it hard.
Is this a player led vs tv led issue with Dolby Vision? I was talking to Stacey Spears about this last week and he was showing me how clipping was happening depending on how the setup was done and which device was handling things. It was easy to demonstrate with his montage. I can follow up and find out the specifics. He had a UB9000 there but I can't remember if that was the cause or something else.

eARC and HFR does not need anything more than 22 Gbps for the time being. Even 8K/60 4:2:0 doesn’t need anything more than 22 Gbps
