This game is pretty damned fun. Definitely not a run and gun thoughtless game like COD4 and the maps are huge.

Only thing that could make this game better is vehicles. Hopefully we get more maps, too.

All the issues have been solved since I started (1.20). The headset is great, too.

Actually there is an auto-aim feature, atleast I know there is for private rooms as when you make the room its one of the settings.

Really? I didn't know that. I'd never use it, but that's good to know if I join a room.

I do know friendly fire can be on or off as we play with it on. And I know you can limit weapons when making a private room.

Looks like we won't be getting the option to make private ranked rooms, so I hope they increase the rank rooms, because many aren't playing right now since stats are messed up and there's no awards/trophies.

Last night at the end of my Socom marathon, we played a 2 vs 2 game on a large map. Talk about spread out. There were so many paths to each other.

My favorite modes in order:

Escort/Extraction
Breach
Demolition
Control
Elimination/Suppression

All the modes are pretty close with me except elimination/suppression, which is a clear last place mode. I like them in small doses.

The maps are all pretty good. Frostfire would be my least favorite by a little, because it's not open enough, but the tunnels are pretty nice.

This is one of my favorite awards. As you can see, we display both the progress towards achieving each part of the award as well as what type of PSN trophy the award will unlock (Bronze, Silver or Gold) shown by an icon. Awards which have multiple criteria will show you progress for each criteria. It takes 8 full working days under controlled conditions for SCEA QA to collect all of the trophies in the game. SOCOM: Confrontation is not going to be one of those "easy trophies" games.

One more note, you can only collect trophies by playing in ranked games. We want the trophies in SOCOM: Confrontation to really mean something.

The Quick Match option has been added to the SOCOM: Confrontation main menu. Once you select quick match you are taken to the party screen where you can invite other players to join your party. On the party screen, you can chat with your party while you are waiting for everyone to join. Once everyone has joined, select join game and your party is matched with other players of similar skill. For the 1.30 update, you can select from 3 different game types for the quick match; 16x16 Ranked, 16x16 Unranked and 16x16 Respawn. All large maps and game modes are available and the playlists are selected at random.

We plan on making improvements to the Quick Match/Party system in future SOCOM: Confrontation updates, including smaller games and smaller maps as our priority. We look forward to the consumer feedback once you get a chance to try the system out.

I stopped playing Socom until the patch is out.

No rush though. A certain game released a certain expansion pack and a certain person has just spent way too much time leveling again.

I used to be "addicted" to socom 2 and later to socom 3, I am glad they brought the game to ps3. But also when this game is running properly (remember the socom ps2 days that was not so hot in the beginning) I will be head shooting scrubs all over again....this time with trophies
