Take a look at all of the millennials around you cuz there's a million more just like him and they're all a buncha jackwagons. You can expect a lot more of these types of guys to permeate the NFL, so don't be surprised when it happens. Believe me, I'm not remotely saying I'm happy about it, but there isn't a thing that you or I can do to stop it.
To be honest, I was all ready to stop the Cam talk... And then he came out and said more dumb stuff.

It's the only real topic in the NFL right now. It'll fade after this week... As talks switch to combine/draft, free agency, etc.

NFL players say dumb stuff all the time. If folks choose to pay that much attention to it and spend that much time beating the proverbial dead horse, then so be it but it gets very old, very fast.

I don't think anyone is asking him to grovel, just take it like a man.
This whole thing is exacerbated by the fact that when things are going good, Cam is on top of the world. Now he's shown he can't handle losing. No way I would want someone like that leading me!
Just a few years ago Peyton lost, he wore his nice suit(oh yeah where was one of Cams dapper suits after the game?) made sure to have a moment with the retiring Ray Lewis and went on to say all the right things.
Look, we are who we are. It's just that simple. Being an NFL player is just going to amplify that - good or bad!

Lynn Swann....i guess u would know a thing or two about not belonging in the HOF

Quote:
“I would think that it would be difficult for Calvin Johnson at this point to be considered a Hall of Famer,” Swann told the Detroit News. “Calvin Johnson has an extreme amount of talent and ability, but when you start to look at his team, the success of his team and did he lift that team; he made them a little bit better, but at the end of the day, I’m not quite sure.”
Lynn Swann-- retired at age 30
336 catches for 5,462 yrds
51 touchdowns.

Calvin Johnson--retired at age 30
731 catches for 11,619 yards
83 touchdowns

Yeah but there's also people with much better receiving stats (who also have rings) from Lynn Swann's era who never got in. I'm not even saying Calvin is a HOF'er. I'm just getting back to the argument from last week that Lynn Swann shouldn't be Him trying to call out Calvin Johnson is ridiculous. Swann should hide in the shadows and be grateful that he got in.

I also remember times of Manning losing and not shaking the opponent's hand, calling out his own o-line, etc etc...

Manning had a moment with Ray Lewis. Cam had a moment with Manning.

People have both good and bad moments. Not a select handful of either extreme should define them, but rather the whole shebang.

Manning walked off the field when he lost to the Saints. There was a peep of outrage.

Even Cam didn't do that.

Yea but its not popular to hate Manning. Cam kicked your dog and slept with your gf. How could you not hate him?

But Manning didn't go on parade after every TD he either scored, or assisted in scoring. If you're going to over indulge on the good times, you have to man up and face the bad times too. Cam didn't do that, and gave critics plenty of material.
Don't get me wrong, I don't dislike Cam. In fact I've stated I like how he makes it a point to give the football to a child in the stands. He seems to be active in the community and isn't in trouble with the law.
Maybe this will be his epiphany and next season we see a more focused Cam, that has bigger goals in sight than excessive end zone celebrations? I know if I was a Carolina fan, I'd be happy to see that.

Peyton is a 'good ol' boy' from the south with an "aw shucks" personality, similar to Favre. Cam is a minority. Fans and the media hold them to different standards. When Peyton or Favre would do something "unsportsmanlike" it was because they were "passionate about the game." When Cam does something like that he's a "punk" or "loser."

Criminal charges forthcoming against McCoy. Not looking good for this guy.

Things aren't getting better for LeSean McCoy.

Citing sources, ABC-6 Philadelphia is reporting that the district attorney has recommended criminal charges be brought against the Buffalo Bills running back, and warrants are expected to be issued Wednesday or Thursday.

The charges are expected to include aggravated assault.

Cam should be commended for being himself. He's honest, that is more than I can say for the other 99% of players.

There's so many guys acting like goody two shoes towing the company line it's sickening. I don't expect any of them to say what they really feel until twenty years after they've retired.

I'm glad Cam is in a position where he doesn't have to put on a persona.

Have to admit I didn't know Peyton walked off after that loss until it's been brought up the past few days.

I was at least glad Cam swallowed his pride enough to go up to Peyton and put a smile on his face. Watching live, I thought he was going to walk straight to the locker room.

But the way he handled the media was wrong. I don't think that can be argued. Are we making a bigger deal out of it than we should? Yea probably. But it was a big deal because of the way Cam carried himself the whole season. Like I had said way way back... He was getting too cocky and needed to tone it down. I think Cam forgot how to handle losses with the Panthers success this season.

He hasn't exactly handled tough losses well in the past, but people forgot about it since the Panthers were 17-1. You can find plenty of pictures with the towel over his head on the sidelines. I also specifically remember him giving a pretty pouty post-game conference two or three years ago.

The one thing I respect about Cam through all of this... He says he won't change for anyone. Although I really think Ron Rivera needs to take him aside and explain that he has to handle losses better in the future... What's going to happen if the Panthers start 0-2 or 0-3? Can Cam handle that? Or will he implode?
