Nobodies acting like that. Just using hindsight on good players

I'll ask you this who will care in 10 years that in 2011 you beat Buffalo twice, the Redskins and KC (I sure won't)? Where had you lost you'd probably have RG3 and someone capable of being remembered like Dan Marino.

And like that the Eagles don't go out with a bang. But a sad pathetic whimper AND DIE. Time for them to clean house after this horrendous season. And last few years. If they keep Reid they must hate Eagle fans.

Not that I care though.

Scary to think how good the Colts are going to be next year.

Yeah just has HOF WR putting in work along with 39th ranked Donnie Avery. And he gets sacked almost 2% less per attempt than RG3.

And he's already getting elite QB bs calls against him.

Incidentally, that last pass interference call is why I despise the NFL "At the spot of the foul" pass interference version. When it's questionable or just flat wrong, it is WAY too big of a penalty. It's fine when it's correct, but it's not correct nearly enough.

Uhh what does that have to do with being a legendary player? Marino is still a QB god.

You act like as a fan, you can control something, change the outcome of a game. The only thing I can control is the love for my team.

So you're saying that at the end of the season, I should go back to every win and tell myself: "Damn, I should have rooted against my team in week 8".

How dumb is that.

what sucks and i hope they fix, is that they don't keep this team how it was when they had Manning. year in and year out - lack of O-Line (most times, Manning just gets the ball out fast) and lack of solid, worrisome running game. why? because they had Manning and they (coaches, GM) always seemed to think Manning could just carry the load (and he did).

but give Luck a running game and improved O-Line and this team / franchise can have an even better 12 year run than the Colts had with Manning. Luck will still get his yards and TD's, but you have to protect your assets and build around them!

I'll never understand how the Colts couldn't build better around Manning they never really had to worry about the WR's, QB or DE's and yet, still couldn't fill in the rest of the pieces with a major playmaker

Noooooo. I'm just saying what does it matter if you win or lose when advancing to the playoffs is out of reach.

well, to be honest, your whole statement was foolishness. like Mike says below, you're looking at it as looking back, not in the moment. yeah, you could get a QB "god", or that same player could turn into Jamarcus Russell.

what should coaches say, "well guys, we're 4-8, going nowhere and have four games left. let's cash it in so we can maybe get a great player in the draft!" that's stupid imo.

1. that's what players and coaches are paid millions to do - WIN
2. attitude and franchise culture
3. that would make almost all games after week 11 irrelevant and not worth watching, might as well cancel all games once the seeds are decided / playoff teams are selected
4. to see what you have on your team for future years. if players would have your approach - cut them immediately, and see what you have. maybe a needle in a haystack approach for the next big thing in the league.
5. beat a division rival, which should always matter

and about a billion other reasons.

by the way, you should become a sports writer, i'd LOVE to hear / see coaches react to you asking them this question

We have this debate every year. I'm just sick of fans who stop rooting for their teams when they're eliminated from the playoffs. I'm sick of fairweather fans who only cheer on their teams when they win. They don't deserve to be called fans.

Thats the point in the draft the higher up you are the supposedly better player you get So if your 0-7 and out of the playoffs why would you root for your team to get a worse player based on games that nobody (not even fans) will care about.

Way to imply I said that... I said as a fan it doesn't matter lol

here's a good question: your team was 3-6 and Shanatan cashed in the season as he thought playoffs were out of the reach (as i'm sure all of us did). what should he have done? taken out the entire starting defense? rest RGIII for next year?

Should he stay healthy, I think Luck's career stats are going to be astronomical. The team around him isn't that good, but with a couple more strong drafts, look the hell out.

teams do dumb things in draft and draft position doesn't mean anything.

Weeden was drafted when? and Russell Wilson?

doesn't matter if you go 0-16 and have the #1 pick, teams can still do and make idiotic drafting choices. and the player you may be able to get (or "should" get) may not even fit in your system!

these people get paid millions to play games to win. if they stop doing that, the league will suffer.
