I don't know, but if you look at the original posting date of the oldest version of the video on youtube it's over 4 months ago.

I don't believe I've ever seen a Superbowl commercial spoiled 4 months early before.

I think with Driver getting a ring over the course of his career in GB helped him make his decision. Too many times you see players going past their prime chasing the prize. Players have to face reality at some point. The history of the league is filled with great players that never were part of a championship team.

DD also got to be on the receiving end of passes from most likely two future HOF QBs. It was good to be DD.

Joe Flacco's agent says his client deserves to be the highest-paid QB in the NFL. He said that Flacco is younger than both Peyton Manning and Drew Brees and now has as many Super Bowls as both. While many might believe this is foolish in reality Flacco could get the biggest QB contract ever. Most people believe that the Ravens have to use the exclusive franchise tag which will be worth around $20 million rather than the non-exclusive tag which would pay $14.6 million and allow him to sign a deal with another team, which would give the Ravens 2 first round picks if they didn't match. That $20 million will thus be the starting point in negotiations and could very well lead to Flacco getting the biggest QB contract ever.

The problem with that is that football is a team sport. Go ahead make him the highest paid player and watch the rest of the talent around suffer. The agent is thinking about his cut in the contract. Also, NFL contracts aren't guranteed. A lot of the contracts are so back end loaded that you know they will be renegotiated or the player will be cut prior to paying out those years. And another thing where is Rodgers name in that sound bite. Rodgers won the MVP last year and also has a ring.

I am not saying accept a lowball offer, but players need to realize that football is a team sport. I don't think any QB in the era of free agency can carry a team on their back. I don't think the gap in talent difference from the best and worst teams is as wide as some think. It's not uncommon anymore for a team to go from worst to first in their division and vice versa. Many of the divisions aren't even decided until the last week or two in the season.

The Jets hired a new special teams coach. He can be seen here as the holder (seriously)....

And just as a reminder, the Jets were already doing this this year...

I won't lie, I would LOVE for them to use the non-exclusive tag and get the 2 first round draft picks from someone else. QB talent goes deep these days coming straight out of college. And getting another dynamo receiver to line up with Smith and Boldin can only help acclimate a new QB.

Otherwise, 10-12 million a year MAX. Yeah he did good in the playoffs and super bowl, but lets not forget those weeks where he just doesn't show up at all.

Dream scenario: use non-exclusive tag on him, someone like KC trade the 2 first rounders for him, pick up best D player and WR with our 2 picks this year, then trade something for Kirk Cousins. He's not a rookie, he did well when given the chance, and he can come into a very good situation with Boldin/Smith/Pitta/Dickson and Ray Rice at RB.

i'm generally against stars taking the max salary. It only hurts their teams. The Lakers would be in much better shape had Kobe not taken 30 million and took 22 million instead. That 8 million could bring in a great player.

These QBs should take a little less.

i agree.

as greedy and selfish as i am, i have always thought, *if i was a great player* "take less money and make sure they build a great team around me". i would be happy with like, 10 million a year max. that is A LOT of money and honestly, with football being a completely year round sport for most athletes teams, it's not like you have a lot of free time to spend money on stuff

although, this is all without knowing how the sports world works and how quickly egos and agenda and agents get in the way.

but i would seriously say, "i don't need 20 million a year, give me 50 million over 5 years" (at MOST) and spend the rest of the cap space wisely to make sure we win championships.

it is a team game right?

Thing is most players are greedy idiots that think "I just won a Super Bowl, I want $30 mil....no $40 million a year" I like to call this Mr. Krabs Syndrome. If I were a great player I'd take $10M a year as well.

Too bad you can't do that little trick in Madden where you'd change the players you want to resign to Punter and and pay them around $500.000 a year and then change them back

either flacco, his agent, or both are being too greedy

brady and manning could both get 20+ if they really wanted to but they know that seriously hurts the team's chances of competing
and they've both done team/cap friendly contract signings/extensions

flacco should aim for comparable money, not #1 cause he's not there yet
heck I'd rather give Boldin some money cause he was money whenever they needed to make a play

ps. Vick should take a pay cut to $10-12 mill

Vick does not deserve $10-$12 million. He is on the downside of his career and hasn't played a full season since 2006. He'll be 33 when next season starts and all the hits he's taken have taken their toll on his body and he doesn't have the speed he used to. I wouldn't pay Vick more than $5 million and if I brought him in I'd make him compete for the starting job.

The other problem is that defense is getting dismantled, boldin is old, Rice has 2-4 years till he might hit the wall like all backs seem to hit.

Do they really need to tie up money in Flacco when the team won't be the same?

That's Brady's cap charge, not actual cash he'll receive. The actual cash he will earn this year is $14.75 million. The Patriots restructured Brady's contract last year by converting some of his 2012 base salary into a signing bonus and due to that and his original $16 million signing bonus Brady's cap number is much higher than his actual salary.

49ers’ Delanie Walker’s aunt and uncle killed in Louisiana car wreck after Super Bowl

Quote:
Tragic news out of Louisiana, as the aunt and uncle of 49ers tight end Delanie Walker were killed in a car accident near New Orleans after leaving the Super Bowl.

Alice and Bryan Young of Pomona, Calif. were stopped on the shoulder of Interstate 10 in St. Charles Parish when a driver hit them as she veered off the highway. Nechole Thomas, 26, of Houston was arrested on suspicion of vehicular homicide, driving while intoxicated and reckless operation of a vehicle.

Walker is the cousin of Alice Young's son DeAndre Williams, a standout high school football player. Williams was invited to go to the game but said he declined to focus on schoolwork and track practice.

"We lost some good people," Walker wrote on Twitter with an accompanying photo. "They will be missed. I love y'all so much."
Thoughts and prayers go out to Walker's family, such sad news
