The numbers for Romo's deal averages out to $18 million per year:

And here are the numbers: Dallas is giving QB Tony Romo a six-year extension worth $108 million, per sources.

Romo got $55 million guaranteed, more than the $52 million guaranteed Joe Flacco got. Donovan McNabb is apparently not a Romo fan.

Tony Romo 6 yr 55 million dollar extension. Wow really, with one playoff win. You got to be kidding me

Donovan McNabb ‏@donovanjmcnabb
My bad everyone it 55 million guaranteed. It's a total of 108 million, wow

Still think it silly to throw so much money at one person. Should actually get paid by how well they play. That goes for every player.

All those team owners are just saying this to their overpaid players.

Kaep's probably going to want a new deal after this season. In the new CBA rookies aren't eligible for extensions until they've played three seasons and if Kaep has another season like the last one he's probably going to expect a new deal, especially since he's only making $740,000 this year and will have only made roughly $4 million over his first three seasons.

Tap the breaks on Matt Flynn-to-Oakland. Despite a Friday report that a Flynn trade was "imminent", multiple indications since have pointed to Raiders GM Reggie McKenzie weighing his options. In our estimation, signing Kolb without coughing up picks would be a far smarter pursuit then dealing the Seahawks draft selections the Raiders need to rebuild a putrid roster. Kolb is only ten months older than Flynn, and neither is a franchise-caliber quarterback.
So, who has more credibility, LaCanfora or Caplan?

It could be a leverage play by McKenzie. He may be leaking that the team is interested in Kolb to try to get the Seahawks to drop their asking price, or he may be leaking that the team is interested in Flynn to try and get Kolb to take less money.

Eh..McNabb was a better QB than Romo ever will be..

So if a bum like Romo is worth $108 million .. Then what is a winner like Rodgers worth?

Jerry Jones is a fool...

McNabb originally thought 55 million was the total amount at the time of the tweet so to tweet that sub 10 per was too much for Romo is as dumb as thinking there's no ties.

I defend Romo a lot and still would take Romo over most QB's but that' a ridiculous guaranteed number. Jerry Jones will never learn.

If Flacco is worth his contract, I think Romo is worth his.

I'd still love to hear the QB that took a team with a bad o-line, a bad coach, and a terrible defense anywhere. If one even exists you have to go back a LONG time.

Staubach and Aikman were both turnover machines, yet they led Dallas to plenty of Superbowls.

I will _never_ understand why people look at Romo in a bubble like Football is a QB-on-opponent game.

I'd still take Romo over the proven "winners" like Eli, Big Ben, and Flacco, primarily because I think all three wouldn't get Dallas anywhere either, and Romo has better stats than they do.

*EDIT* For what it's worth, the only people I think deserve more $ than Romo are Brady, Peyton, Rodgers, and Brees. The rest of the "big name QBs" are either too new (Kaep, Wilson, RG3, Newton) or find themselves in a very fortunate situation with a damn good team around them (Eli, Big Ben, Flacco). I'm torn about a few like Matt Ryan.

Football is about winning championships not individual stats.

And I'm sure a team with no players with individual stats of note regularly win championships, right?
