Eagles fired defensive coordinator Juan Castillo.
Heads begin to roll in Philly. Castillo, a converted offensive line coach, has come under heavy fire for mismanaging his plentiful talent during a 3-3 start. The Eagles rank 13th in points allowed per game and 12th in yards allowed, but are 30th in sacks with just seven. The final straw was when Castillo inexplicably changed strategy on Calvin Johnson late in Sunday's overtime loss the Lions, leading to a blown 10-point lead with five minutes to go. "We're six games into the season and average isn't good enough," coach Andy Reid said. Castillo has been replaced by ex-Dolphins interim head coach Todd Bowles.

Phillip Rivers prime is being wasted due to an inept coach. Some Norv Turner facts via grantland.com:
Norv's post game presser was embarrassing. He sounded oblivious to any criticism about himself or the team. How the hell does Marty get canned after a 14-2 record but Norv's teams always underperform and he gets a pass?

My best guess would be that he's a puppet coach like Jason Garrett, so a guy that the GM uses as a cover since he's the real coach.

Garrett's got to go lol, he's had his chance and it hasn't worked out.

I feel like the Cowboys should give Perry Fewell a real shot at being a coach, Jay Gruden wouldn't be bad either, as for a college coach, I'd want to see Art Briles get a chance.

The HC will be next to go w/o a doubt, even if it's not till the end of the season.

jesus.

we all know what this means: new GM, new HC, new QB - even though they've drafted 2 in the last three years or so, including a 35 year-old in the first / second round last year.

fans always look at this as "exciting" times, but really it's saying, "this is why we will suck for another 5 years during 'rebuilding' and then someone else will likely buy the team and start the process all over again"

i feel bad for guys like Joe Thomas - great offensive lineman who will forever be forgotten about as he plays on a completely $h*t team.

Taking a RB at #3 overall was no smarter. It's the most easily replaceable position in the NFL and rarely gives a team more than about 5 good seasons before they flame out.

Don't forget that Cleveland gave up a 4th, 5th, and 7th round pick to Minnesota so they could move up from the 4th pick to the 3rd pick, even though there was no chance Minnesota was going to take Richardson and there was no other team that was going to trade up to Minnesota's pick to get Richardson.

If they were going with someone high on the popularity list it should've been Lady Gaga. Can only imagine the "wardrobe malfunctions" that could happen there

Hopefully she won't be the only Houstonian in attendance. I'm hoping for about 53 others as well.

Before the season I thought Skelton was their best quarterback but after watching him Sunday once Kolb went down it's clear he's going to get killed. To play behind that offensive line you've got to be mobile and Skelton has got to be one of the slowest quarterbacks in the league. Ryan Lindley should start warming up once the game starts because he'll be in pretty early.

It seems like the NFL is going for female viewers now with the halftime show. They know they are going to get males to watch the game but with the Black Eyed Peas, Madonna, and now Beyonce that's 3 straight acts that seem to be directed at females.
