But we have to win this year or it won't matter what all Ryan and Smith have done in Atlanta. We'll still get overlooked.

Be honest with you Atl is my pick for champs especially if they start running Rodgers like they should hes the future at RB and should be taking the primary role ASAP.

I'm just gonna say it now. I don't think either of the current 10-1 teams will make the Super Bowl. It'll be the one or the other, but not both.

And no I'm not saying I think the 49ers will be there either (Hopefully they will It's just not like me saying yeah, they will!) Just in case anyone was gonna say that.

I hope they start to realize this. He's got better hands than Turner, much more speed, and he almost always seems to find the hole. Turner's game no longer fits this offense. He is a guy that improves throughout the season and throughout the game as he gets more carries, but he's in a 10-15 carry offense now and he just never seems to get going. But Rodgers has been beating up some teams in his few chances. He almost outgained Martin yesterday on far fewer carries.

yikes. i don't see them getting past the first round unless they'd play a "soft" team. Falcons have always come off as 'soft' to me, and even all these close wins don't really change my mind, nor should it. they've been embarrassed in the playoffs the last two seasons - one after a really great 13-3 year. i won't believe in them at all until they win a playoff game with this regime.

I think Panthers will win this one, it's only a one point game right now but, one guy is checking it down and one guy is going for home runs. And the Eagles secondary always gives up big plays.

It's really rock bottom for the Eagles and Chargers... can't really get any worse unless Reid goes to SD and Norv goes to Philly.

Would Eagles ownership just go ahead and fire Andy Reid now? The poor guy looks completely defeated on the sidelines these days and we all know he's going to be fired after the season anyway.

As badly as they needed a "W" last night, I think that Reid will remain head coach until the end of the season (Turner as well).

I've read a couple theories on why Reid may keep his job through the end of the season. One is that they won't fire him out of loyalty, as he's been there for 14 years and taken the team to a Super Bowl, and since they aren't making the playoffs anyway they'll let Reid finish the season. Another is that the owner fears that if he fires Reid and names an interim coach and the team then wins out for the remainder of the season then the owner would be pressured to keep the interim rather than go out and choose a coach.

If they fired Reid tomorrow he'd have a new job in Dallas the next day

No doubt he'll be fired at the end of the season. and just cause he took them to the Super Bowl out of 14 years doesn't mean a thing. Not to mention he didn't win. I know the Eagles fans and even the Eagles organization is tired of losing and its time for a change.

Ok Hypothetically Eagles fire Reid tomorrow who are they going to get. Who is better then Reid for them? He goes to one of your biggest rivals in Dallas and your left with who?

The most likely hires for the Cowboys, to me(in order)
Mike Holmgren
Sean Payton
Rob Ryan
Ryan could actually end up being the guy if Jason gets fired next month and Rob gets us on a bit of a roll to end the season. I'd rather have him as the head coach over Mike anyway, also one of those who wouldn't mind seeing Norv return to run our maligned offense.

The NFL has announced that they will be sticking with the planned Sunday night games in week 14 and 15. In week 14 they will have Detroit at Green Bay and in week 15 they will have San Francisco at New England. So far there has not been a game flexed this season, but in week 16 the Chargers play the Jets so that could certainly be flexed.

Desean Jackson done for the year

Quote:

Eagles placed WR DeSean Jackson (ribs) on injured reserve, ending his season.

Jackson fractured two ribs on a reverse in the first quarter of Monday night's loss to the Panthers. It caps another wildly disappointing campaign for D-Jax, who signed a five-year, $47 million contract last March. He ends up with 45 catches for 700 yards and two touchdowns in 11 games and was allowed to return just one punt all year. A straight-line speedster that rarely goes over the middle, Jackson has just two 100-yard performances in his last 22 outings. With Michael Vick likely gone and Nick Foles looking shaky at best, it's hard to be excited about Jackson's 2013 outlook.

That would be ok with me he can't even fix his own side of the ball let alone the mess Garrett created... Although if he just got some lineman and stopped calling ridiculous plays they might be ok.

I keep hearing John Gruden's name coming up. Then again his name comes up with every coaching vacancy and he never takes a job. Philly doesn't seem a good fit for him anyway.

someone on NFL AM today said it was out of respect for Reid essentially focusing more on the team than his family. the almost but pretty much said that the reason Reid's son died was because Reid wasn't as good a father as he could have been because he devoted more of his life to the Eagles than to his kids.

that was a bit much imo, but i would say that could play on things. coach loses his son before the season, he's been there for 14 years, firing him now with 5 games left does what?

change will come in two months time. no need to rush what is inevitable.

he was QB's coach there for awhile as he learned under Holmgren, Marriuchi and some others, so it would be a "homecoming" of sorts i believe, but i agree - he is a QB guy and i'm almost positive he wouldn't want Vick as his QB. he likes prototypical QB's not a hybrid like Vick is (not to mention as bad and old as Vick is).
