Long-term, it won't. It's exactly the same in college though. The triple option/wishbone was huge in the 80s and won multiple championships. Why do only a few teams run it now? People figured it out and it stopped being effective. But the teams that run it now put up huge yards because nobody knows it anymore.

It'll have a longer run with Freakishly huge guys like Newton and Kap, but even they aren't immune to the beating they'll get. I'd keep letting QB's run just to keep cracking them...
