It's impossible to know how Smith and Rodgers would have turned out if they switched teams. Smith had to almost immediately start for a terrible 49ers team when he clearly wasn't ready while Rodgers got to sit behind a future Hall of Fame QB for 3 years. Smith also had to deal with having 7 different offensive coordinators in his first 7 seasons. If they swap maybe Smith becomes one of the top QBs in the league and Rodgers struggles.

Smith doesn't seem to have the arm, mobility or decision making Rodgers has (at least in my op). He does look like he's a step above game manager, and maybe can progress into a decent qb a-la Jeff Garcia, and have a stretched out career where he's in demand.

Roddy White had a 1200+ yard season (more than Bowe has had in any season) with Joey Harrington, Chris Redman and Byron Leftwich.... The only reason people even know Bowe is the 15 TDs he caught in 2010.

Of all the teams Smith could have gone too, they choose the Chiefs?! They really didn't like him did they. That's the biggest slap in the face really. Going from a top Superbowl team, to a team that won 2 games all year long!

All I can say is i wish him luck in KC, it's not gonna be a easy road there.

They went with the best deal they could get. They weren't going to trade him to Arizona if they had another offer because they didn't want him in their division and there really weren't very many teams interested in him. No team was going to trump the Chiefs offer and the 49ers wanted to get rid of him before he was due a $1 million on March 14.

That's differnt though, he was drafted, not traded and played on a team that was within one missed play of the SB and the following season in the SB and might have won if a flag was called.

But that's in the past, and the 49ers just wanted to dump him off where they thought they could get the best deal and have to not worry about him in their division. Be kinda foolish on their part if they traded him to the Cards and they won the division the following year with him.

Second time the 49ers traded their QB to the chiefs. But no way am i comparing Alex to Joe Montana. As much as I like Alex I know that's no comparison there. Just find it funny they trade away their starter for so many years in favor of the the back up who takes his spot. Though I would have to say Alex is in better shape then Joe was when he was traded. He was within his last few years. I know another former 49ers QB Steve Bono played for the chiefs aswell.

Now all the 49ers need to worry about is a back up if Kaep gets hurt. Wouldn't that be a b*tch if he gets hurt and out for the season. Talk about Bad Karma. But being a 49ers fan I hope that doesn't happen.

I hate to admit it but it's better than Jacksonville. Wasn't KC a 9 win team in 2011? It seemed like they just had everything go wrong in 2012. It's a far better situation than the Jags.

When I think of the chiefs, I just think of the most boring team for some reason. Along with Kansas City being the most boring town. But hey, never been there so I don't know. I just think the Jags have the better potential of the two if they could get their crap together.

You live in... Bangor, PA.... and you think Kansas City is boring?

We just got 2 feet of snow in 6 days. Is that boring?

And Jacksonville has been really bad for a while.

KC won 10 games in 2010 and won the division. 2011 was when everything seemingly went wrong, with Tony Moeaki missing the whole season, Eric Berry tearing his ACL in week 1, and Jamaal Charles tearing his ACL in week 2. Last year they were just bad all around.

Hey, I know my town is boring, why I wanna move. And that wasn't a dig against you in now way possible. I was just saying what is Kansas really know for, corn right? Or is that another state by it. Seems those type of farming states don't seem to have alot going. But like i said i don't know.

I remember they used to be good with Mark Brunell, but that's going way back.

Nebraska is the corn state, and the Chiefs don't play in Kansas.

One of those two states I knew it was. Seem all the same to me. So their called The Kansas City Chiefs, but don't play in Kansas? Or do they play somewhere else close to it. my geography probably sucks cause it's been a while.

Kansas City is located in Missouri, near the Kansas-Missouri border. It is the biggest city in Missouri.

Kansas City is technically 2 different neighboring cities in Kansas and Missouri. The city (in both cases) is named for the river, not the state. Most references to Kansas City are referencing Missouri, as it is about 3 times the size. The Kansas City Royals and Chiefs are both in Missouri (actually located right next to each other). Sporting KC (soccer team) and Kansas City Motor Speedway are both in Kansas (also, actually located right next to each other).
