That's weird. Almost like New York City not being in New York, or isn't it?

It's the same reason the WrestleMania logo has NJ in it. It's ACTUALLY in New Jersey, but they want everybody to think it's in New York.

It's going to be really interesting if Geno Smith is available when we pick. Really only the Cardinals would take him before us and they seem more interested in Matt Barkley than Geno. He's a great fit for the West Coast offense, and he had a great combine. But at the same time we could really use someone like Ogletree, but his substance abuse issues are a major concern. Trading down is also a very realistic option.

hoping to get an RG3 without having to pay for it

The few games I've seen him play I've not been impressed.

(although we can go back to my pre-draft comments and see I didn't want RG3 for the same thing so WTF do I know )

You seriously think the Cardinals would take Barkley with the 7th pick? I've seen very few mock drafts that even have him going top-15.

Yesterday NFL Network said it's been said that he is Arians' favorite quarterback of the bunch.

There's always QBs every year who shouldn't go day 1 that do, the one whose name escapes me that went to the Dolphins last year, Tim Tebow a fear years ago and Christian Ponder in 2011 all come to mind.

Jermichael Finley Will Not Entertain A Pay Cut In 2013

Quote:
The Green Bay Packers have some significant decisions to make this offseason as they ultimately move toward some huge contract extensions expected for quarterback Aaron Rodgers and outside linebacker Clay Matthews.

One of them involves tight end Jermichael Finley, the outspoken performer who is entering the final year of his contract. Finley is set to count $8.75 million against the team’s salary cap in 2013. The Packers, of course, could lower that figure if they extended Finley, but there are no signs at this point that is happening.

Coach Mike McCarthy has spoken positively about Finley and the team could lose wide receiver Greg Jennings. Shedding too many playmakers for Rodgers could be problematic. But Finley isn’t looking to cut the Packers a discount.

“The Packers are barely talking to me right now. I know they're just doing it the Packer way and playing it close to the vest,” Finley told Josina Anderson of ESPN. “I haven't got a call. I haven't got a text asking me to take a pay cut or to restructure my deal at this point--not at all."

Finley made it clear he is not interested in reducing his 2013 salary.

"I'd have to walk for sure, meaning I couldn't take a pay cut,” he told Anderson. “Maybe I'd restructure if it's a deal that I like and it makes sense, but I'm not the guy that's just going to sign anything and let anything pass. I'm not that guy. Other than that, taking a pay cut or restructuring doesn't sound good to me at this time. I like my deal. I start training in Minneapolis tomorrow and I'm more inspired than ever to start next season off right and be the tight end I know I can be. It's all business at the end of the day. I just love what I do."

Finley cannot restructure a one-year contract to reduce the cap hit unless he is extended. So, we’ll see where this heads.

Finley has mediocre at best hands, if I were the Packers with all those weapons, I'd either give him a modest contract or tell him to take a hike.

I think Finley would be perfectly content leaving Green Bay. He has never seemed like a team player and would likely be perfectly happy going somewhere else where he could get the ball more. He'd probably be able to get more guaranteed money somewhere else with a new contract so I can understand why he isn't interested in a pay cut.

It would make absolutely no sense for any team to trade for Revis. In addition to giving up a lot of compensation you would also need to give him a new contract because he only has one year left on his current deal and it specifies that he can't be franchised, so after giving up all the compensation you can't risk losing him after one season. He wants to be the highest-paid defender in the NFL and I just don't think you can give a guy that's coming off an ACL tear a contract like that, especially when the evidence suggests that most cornerbacks who suffer an ACL tear never return to where they were before the injury.

How many times has Mort gotten wrong intel Although I doubt they'd pick him up anyway. Still fun to read.
