Douchebag sports commentator Jay Mariotti finally got a new gig after beating and stalking his ex wife awhile back. He has a radio program with Genesis Communications. Genesis is more or less a radio company that airs conspiracy crackpots like the Alex Jones show with advertisement for things like UFO conventions. How fitting he lands there.

Mariotti is trying to make it sound like he could have gone with a bigger platform:

“I should note I’ve had meetings with ESPN and Fox about joining their operations, and candidly, I think they’re too corporate, while they have their own opinions of me. Point being, I can’t be The Man if I’m working for The Man and The Man has a close business arrangement with the subjects of my commentaries.”

Sorry, but I don't believe that either of those companies would work with Mariotti. He was too polarizing on ESPN and they wouldn't want to deal with his past legal issues. They'll back people with legal issues if they're popular but Mariotti was almost universally disliked and the only reason they put him on the air is because at the time he was one of the biggest sportswriters in Chicago, whereas now he writes on a personal blog because no legit news organization will work with him.

Never heard of him nor seen him, but after reading about him I'm glad I haven't seen him before, he's the type of 'reporter' than I loathe.

He was pretty much a staple on Around The Horn until 2010 I think. If you watched that show, which if you don't I don't blame you.

New Minnesota Vikings receiver Greg Jennings is still talking about his old team.

Even after Vikings coach Leslie Frazier told Jennings to stop making comments about the Green Bay Packers, Jennings continued Wednesday.

In an interview with KFAN radio, Jennings said he was "brainwashed" when he played for the Packers when it came to how other teams in the NFC North were supposed to be perceived.

When asked whether the Vikings have championship qualities, Jennings said: "One of the things that drew me to coming over here was the makeup of the team. When I came over here, I was kind of brainwashed. There's no 'kind of' to it. Being over in Green Bay, you're brainwashed to think anyone in the division is tiers below."

"It's like everything that you know in Green Bay is like the best, the best, the best, the best, the best," Jennings continued. "And it's like total brainwashing. And I think you don't open your eyes to see what other teams have to offer unless you are in that position, and I was afforded this position."

Jennings, who played seven seasons in Green Bay before signing with the Vikings in the offseason, had criticized the leadership skills of Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers last month. That prompted Frazier to talk to Jennings about his comments.

Hard to feel sorry for Jennings. He got to play for one of the NFL's best franchises in a great sports town. He also played with Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers.
