he throws a check down in the middle of the field AD should've dropped it but it's hard to go against instinct

Still not sure why the Vikings thought he was a good idea in the 1st round of the 2011 NFL draft, trying to figure out which QBs they could've had instead. Dalton isn't that good but he's way ahead of the mess that is Christian Ponder, that is for sure.

He's actually 29. They drafted him when he was 28 in the first round.

Yeah he was projected as a 4th-5th round draft pick but for some reason the Vikings snatched him up with the 12th overall pick, a move that still has me scratching my head.

I think that's an exaggeration. They drafted him far higher than expected, but I think Ponder was a projected late-1st or early 2nd-round pick. Not a projected 4th-5th rounder.
