This loss hurts because we had it!! But we let it slip!

I hate the fact that most niner fans feel they won the superbowl or something or this was the NFC championship to go to the super bowl. Its really annoying seeing all that on my facebook feed. Straight up deactivated it the account. Lol

Opening point spreads for the Divisional Playoff games. Three big spreads and an evenly matched one.

Seattle (-8.5) vs. New Orleans
San Francisco (-1) @ Carolina

New England (-7.5) vs. Indianapolis
Denver (-10) vs. San Diego

Oddly for Denver, all 3 of the AFC teams that are left to face them are the 3 teams that beat them this year.

Maybe it's just my having little faith in Peyton Manning in the postseason but I have a gut feeling Denver fails to emerge from the AFC again. Doubt it's against San Diego, but it could well be against New England or Indy.

As for the Divisional games I'll go with.

Denver over San Diego by 14
New England over Indianapolis by 8

Seattle over New Orleans by 10
Carolina over San Francisco by 3

That Carolina-SF game is a very tough call. Kinda 50-50 on that one.

lol
as i told everyone since i am from San Diego, that the Chargers would take it and since manning has never beaten Philip rivers in the playoffs, i'm actually thinking this is the best matchup the Chargers could have gotten in the next round

He's outplayed Rivers in both playoff losses, however.

This Peyton stuff though is greatly over exaggerated. He's done better in every playoff game since winning the Super Bowl than he did in any of the playoff games during the Super Bowl run, but because his teams are 2-5 in those games, he can't win.

He threw 3 TDs and 7 INTs during the Super Bowl run; he's thrown 14 TDs and 6 INTs in the 7 games since.

yeah. the problem is not manning but the defence except the year he won the SB. his team doesn't play good defence and every mistake manning makes is magnified. sure, he's not as clutch as during regular season but it's still a team's game and when you have no defence, it's hard

Long time Carolina Panthers fan since '96 (even though I've lived out here in Green Bay for 20+ years) ... not surprised by the Packers' loss to the 49ers, and honestly I'm surprised Kaepernick didn't run for more yards on them. But GB's defense is what it is, unfortunately ... although they turned in a better performance than expected. Either way, GB in my opinion still has the rookie of the year in Eddie Lacy and long as they can stay healthy (i.e. Rodgers not missing any significant playing time), they will always be in the playoffs. Now if only they could work on their fundamentals of .... oh I don't know ... actually tackling for once ....

Not to fret though, Packers fans ... the Panthers will take care of the 49ers. Carolina's defense should be more than enough to keep Kaepernick & Co. in check.

Dan Patrick tweeted 14 playoff teams next year just like we talked about.

I think he usually doesnt mention things like that unless he is fairly confident from his sources that it will happen.

Cool wildcard weekend then 3 games saturday & 3 games sunday.

DeSean Jackson says he thinks he deserves a new contract. While Jackson had a good season it's not like he's outplayed his 5-year, $48 million contract he signed in 2012 which makes him the 8th highest-paid receiver in terms of average salary. The only way I could see the Eagles giving Jackson a new deal is if they want to lower his salary cap number, but I can't see them giving him a deal with significant guarantees or salaries that would put him up there with Calvin Johnson or Larry Fitzgerald. He has no leverage and has an injury history, and the Eagles first priority has to be getting other receivers signed with Riley Cooper and Jeremy Maclin hitting free agency.
