When your name ends up on detectives desks not once but twice...even if you didn't do the crime...it's not good

If it looks like a duck, walks, like a duck, and quacks like a duck then it is likely a duck. Jackson is clearly a bad apple, and any team that signs him has to know that the odds are that he runs with a questionable crowd. He's a great football player, but he certainly is a risk.

You missed the entire point of my statement, what cooper did was FAR worse then anything Jackson may or may not have done. Cooper was caught on video saying the "N" word on a tirade.

Cooper got a contract, Jackson got FIRED, after arguably his best season in an Eagles uniform.

He was being shopped around by the Eagles already. After the story broke, they released him because they were no longer going to get anything for him.

Did you read the Incognito texts? Do you understand how the players talk to another?

I'm not saying I do exactly.. but for Cooper to get so much shit over saying a word (roughly) 75-80% of the players in the league use is just ridiculous imo.



Also, Jackson did more than took a picture with a gang-sign flashed. Honestly, I don't think that's a big deal as I'm sure if you researched into some other players they've probably taken pictures with some similar signs. Wouldn't mean they're in a gang.

Im not being all holier than thou, this is a legitimate discussion. Do I think it ridiculous that a black guy can say it but a white guy cant sure; but, at the same time black people did not put black people into years of oppression and use said word as a derogatory statement. There has been many a topic on the radio regarding the use of the word. It also seems to be a more generational thing as well, the younger generation seems to think its ok to say the word. The older generation regardless if you have ga or er on the end of the word seems to be the ones that take more offense to the word.

When Riley Cooper did what he did, he was at a country concert. He was not on the practice field nor was he playing in a game. It was over the summer just before training camp. So it can be safely surmised that it was said with derogatory intent.

So now we are comparing two very different off the field incidents. A picture vs a video, now you tell me which was worse?

My issue here is Jackson was not cut for being late to meetings, or being disruptive on the field. He was specifically cut for having potential gang affiliations because of a picture, which can be taken out of context. Riley Cooper was rewarded despite insurmountable evidence that what he did was racist. Please explain to me how this does not amount to a double standard in the NFL? had Jackson been doing anything else with this life, he would have a multi million dollar lawsuit.

I agree, if he was just like sup my N* on the practice field and it got picked up by the media it gets overlooked... When you're at a country concert... Its far from that, and its going to be taken differently. Maybe its wrong but thats the society we live in and if had any common sense about his own brand he'd have avoided it...

He doesn't get a pass the same way we don't give a pass to someone like Jackson, etc. hanging around influences that may bring out the worst in them, and personally I think its more understandable that a kid can't break ties with his past gang, bad influences than some kid like cooper spouting off at a country concert... I would bet Riley Cooper wouldn't have made it to the NFL if he had to go through something like what Dez Bryant went through and in-fact he went to Clearwater Central Catholic the same high school Hulk Hogans daughter went too lmao far cry from having a struggle like some of his co-workers have had to see.

Bryant's mother had him when she was 14, and when Bryant was a child she served 18 months in jail for selling crack cocaine. Bryant bounced around from home to home until he got to college,

Bottom line Coopers judgement was as far off if not further than some of the worst NFL offenders [excluding Hernandez lol]

In my experience, the older generation who have seen the equal rights movement are far more racist and younger people today are less racist. The ga vs er discussion is stupid. It's obvious when using "er" it's meant in a derogatory slang though. Which I'm guessing Cooper was doing. It still wouldn't make him a racist in my opinion. Saying something out of anger and not meaning it, and being racist are very different things. He could easily be racist and keep it hidden, I don't know.

Does getting caught on that video make him a racist? Possibly. I don't think so. I believe the word is very commonplace in NFL locker rooms and I wouldn't doubt if he still used the word in a friendly way. Obviously no idea on the situation.

Riley was drunk, at a concert. Whereas Jackson just operates like he does. I'm not saying the n-word is excusable, I just don't think it's as big of a deal as it is to NFL players to regular Joes on the street.

Remember the Incognito situation and all the players who had his back after reading the texts? It's because NFL players talk to each other like that. Call each other names, whatever.

Riley also went through sensitivity training to get back to the training camp.

I don't know the full Jackson situation (like anyone out of the Philly organization) so it's very difficult to speculate why exactly he was cut. All I'm saying is, it's very easy to be a good teammate. How hard is it to put your work in and be respectable of others?

To some people, like DeSean, obviously it's very difficult. Too difficult. He'd rather smoke weed and hang with his friends. (the weed is just speculation but try to tell me that DeSean doesn't smoke)

I also fail to see how if DeSean were 'doing something else with his life' he would get a multi-million dollar lawsuit for coming late/being disruptive for work?

I think you need to check out social media if you think its not as racist now maybe its just vile comments, but while not overtly oppressive like it was back then the internet has given anyone with an internet connection the opportunity to say whatever they want and in-fact can help inflame and sympathize someones attitudes they might have had to keep to them selves in say 1993 or 1994.

Like I said we find reasons all the time to not give other athletes passes, so I don't sympathize with him... If one is going to say Pac-Man or Ray Rice needs to control themselves while drinking he does too, is it the same as shootings or hitting girls absolutely not but the bottom line end of the day principle is self control something Riley lacked and something others lacked, so its left for the media, and public to dish out where he sits.

Incognito has been a demon, awful human since he entered the league, and judging by what we've heard about the Dolphins management this type of behavior was either encouraged or went unchecked because it was silently accepted. He'd have probably kept his mouth shut if he was on the Patriots.

If other athletes are thugs, goons, etc. and Riley gets if ands or buts then those guys should too and most of their issues can be traced back to childhood societal issues that money nor fame can fix.

Rams signed WR Kenny Britt, formerly of the Titans, to a one-year, $1.4 million contract.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Britt can earn up to $2.9 million. It's a minimal gamble by the Rams. There's no denying Britt's talent, as he has previously flashed No. 1 receiver skills. But we haven't seen it much since 2010. Britt has battled knee issues the past few years and could possibly be damaged goods. He also hasn't been a model citizen, racking up multiple off-field incidents. However, Britt is still just 25 years old. He could easily become the Rams' No. 1 receiver in 2014. At 6-foot-3 and 223 pounds, Britt is an ideal X receiver.

Check the laws in New Jersey where it happened. I believe the state can make her testify as this happened before they were wed. I am sure if they do force this issue then she will plead the 5th.

Jackson to Skins "Done Deal" or April Fools Joke?

A source tells 97.5 Radio in Philadelphia that free agent DeSean Jackson signing with the Redskins is a "done deal."

This report was quickly brushed off by a fistful of national media, as most say a pact is close but not done yet. All we know for sure is Jackson had a good meeting with the Redskins on Monday, spent the evening at a club with members of the team, and will meet again Tuesday. All signs point toward a signing happening then, meaning the Eagles would have to face Jackson twice this season.
