Seahawks went for maximizing opportunities on 3rd/4th down if they failed on 2nd and the genius of Belichick might have had a hand in it. He didn't call a TO to save some time for Brady. So that meant the Seahawks would have to use their final TO if they used a running play. They went with a pass instead.

Belichick is a master at situational football so I wouldn't be surprised if this is what really happened.

In hindsight New England was really smart to let Welker walk 2 years ago. Edelman has been a far more productive player over the last two seasons.

That's what makes them even greater. Decision making.

They know when to cut ties with a great player.

I still can't figure out why teams make trades with the Pats. The Pats always get the better end of the deal.

I gathered that Edelman trained heavily with Brady during Spring/Summer of 2013. He was pretty much the only familiar target Brady had left from the previous year as injuries, free agency, and possible criminal activity separated him from all the others. I suspect the situation lit up Edelman's determination to succeed.

At the time it seemed almost everyone thought cutting ties with Welker in favor of Amendola (who had injury issues) was a bad move. I was one of them. As usual the Pats knew what they were doing. The Patriots are right there with the San Antonio Spurs and San Francisco Giants for best run front office in pro sports. Every move they makes seems to somehow work out.

And just imagine if they still had Aaron Hernandez in the line up.
There is no doubt, they are THE best run organization in the NFL. The next closest, IMO, would be Pittsburgh.

I did the same. I thought they were crazy for letting Welker go, but I couldn't have been more wrong. His game has really declined.

Warren Sapp fired from NFL Network. He was arrested for assaulting and soliciting prostitutes.

Probably so. Back when I was a kid in the late 80's through the 90's almost all the Super Bowls sucked. Nearly ever year it was a blowout with the NFC always winning big. Since around 1998 we've been in something of a golden age for Super Bowls with few blowouts and many games coming down to the wire. In the last 17 years 11 have been decided by a TD or less. In the 17 years prior to that just 3 were decided by a TD.

Damn. Richard Sherman played SuperBowl 49 knowing that he needs Tommy John surgery. Also Kam Chancellor needs knee surgery for the injury he suffered during the final practice before the Super Bowl. Credit to them for playing.

Pro Football Hall of Famer Warren Sapp was arrested in Arizona on Monday on suspicion of soliciting a prostitute and accused of assaulting two women, according to a spokesman for the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office.

Phoenix police arrested the 42-year-old Sapp at 7 a.m. MT Monday at a downtown Phoenix hotel, Lt. Brandon Jones said.

Alex Riethmiller, a spokesman for the NFL network, told The Hollywood Reporter that Sapp's contract has been terminated.

Sapp, who was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2013, played in the NFL from 1995-2007 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Oakland Raiders after a collegiate career at the University of Miami (Fla.).

Police originally were called to the hotel on a noise disturbance, and when officers arrived a woman said she had been assaulted, according to Sgt. Trent Crump, a Phoenix police spokesman.

A leopard never changes it's spots. Sapp was scummy all the time he played, and he still is. Good riddance!

I'd say Pittsburgh would be the juiciest of those three, for a Thursday nighter? That would be my guess.

Sapp is in for some serious sh*t the rest of his life now. He won't get another media type opportunity... not for a while.

And considering he filed for bankruptcy a couple years back, he's probably in a really bad place. Sucks for him. Hard to have sympathy for someone who never changed after being given chance after chance.

NFL is so hypocritical for employing him, a two time wife beater, while complaining about domestic violence.

Hey Goodell, E.A.D.
