I'm trying to find out what qualities Gurley has to already elevate this dude to legendary status. Pump the brakes on Gurley please. He didn't really do much the 2nd half of the season. Let's see him do it on the field consistently before crowning him.

To be fair to Gurley, he's pretty much the only offensive weapon on an otherwise terrible offense. Imagine he'd regularly be a 1500 yard back behind the Cowboys line if he could stay healthy.

Doubt he would be third leading rusher if it weren't for all the RB injuries this year.

This is a brand new stadium, so obviously he didn't dream of playing in this stadium, unless he is also some kind of psychic. Although you Pats fans would probably believe that also 😂😂

As much as I want the arrogant and smug demeanor smacked clean off of Cam Newton's face, I'm not very hopeful of the Cardinal's chances.

As much as I'm sick of hearing about Tom Brady in the big game, I just think the Patriots have too many weapons, even against a good Bronco defense.

I pick the Patriots and the Panthers to make the Superbowl. If this scenario happens, I'd hope the Panthers beat the Patriots so we can have a new champion, however, I'm hoping Cam Newton's NFL career takes the same turn in success as Colin Kaepernick's has. I hope Cam goes from something to nothing in about 1 1/2 to 2 years after he starts losing a good chunk of his supporting team to free agency, trades, salary cap, coaching changes, etc. It doesn't take long for part-time "good" NFL teams to become bad again.

I would rather it be the Broncos and the Cardinals in the big game. If my hope scenario came true, then I'd like the Cardinals to beat the Broncos. I have really no "ill" feelings towards Peyton or the Broncos. I like many other people believe Peyton is at the end of his road and I personally think he squandered his chance to win his "go home big" retirement game against Seattle a couple of years back.

Best of luck to all 4 teams. I'll be watching both games this weekend. They should be great!
Got some serious issue with Cam there huh bud? Says a lot about the kinda person you are. I'll never understand why people hate on Cam for having fun on the football field. The statements you made are absolutely hilarious, hater

It was funny when that Seahawks fan waved a 12th man flag in front of Cam and Cam snatched it and threw it away. Didn't he see what Cam did with the Packer flag?

Ugh...

You're missing the point of what a prospect is... An NFL prospect is someone who hasn't entered the NFL yet. So ignore Gurley's rookie season and watch his college highlights. Compare them to Elliot's.

Gurley was considered the best RB prospect since AP for a reason. Elliot is simply not on that level. There's nothing wrong with that... Elliot can be a very good RB, but coming out of college he just isn't the type of prospect that AP and Gurley were.

This coming from the guy who said Bortles and Mariota were chumps....

Yeah I'll go with my own opinion on this. Most on these boards said both of these players were busts. So far they are wrong. Certainly wrong about Bortles and Mariota looks good (only bad thing going for him is that he plays for a bottom 3 franchise).

I repeat. EzE is an amazing talent that would thrive in the Jets system, and he will be a cornerstone back. That's what my eyes tell me. Plain and simple.

Read what I wrote. I didn't say the stadium he dreamed of playing in, I said the stadium of the team he dreamed of playing in.

Cam's a good guy that acts like a complete jackass on the fields and gets away with stuff nobody else does. In the game against Atlanta that they lost, he ran 30 yards downfield after a first down to signal it. He also had several times where he walked out of his way and right into the middle of the Falcons D to try and signal the first down.

This is getting old. Lol

I think he'd be good for the Jets too... He'd be good for a lot of teams.

All I said is he isn't the prospect that AP and Gurley were. And you can't really argue with that.

Sometimes the top prospects don't pan out, and sometimes lower tier prospects do. So by no means am I suggesting Elliot is a bust. You can back and look at everything I've said on this. I like Elliot and think he'll be a good back in the NFL. I would love for the Titans to take him in the 2nd if he was there. But he's simply not the same talent that AP/Gurley were coming out of college. Only a handful of players ever have been, so it's not some sort of slight at Elliot as some of you seem to think.

Elliot could very well end up being a better pro than Gurley if he gets in the right system. Plus, Gurley is in a horrible situation with a coach who will run him into the ground and not give two sh*ts about it.

Done talking about this because it's well documented that AP/Gurley were the top RB prospects of the last decade. Again, everything I say gets taken out of context because this is the Internet. But so be it.

Ugh. I guess I am missing it because this is the first time the subject of 'best RB prospect' has come up in this conversation. Nice of you to go in an entirely different direction from 'Zeke being a headcase' and 'a 2nd round pick at best'. I guess who the heck cares about that. Darren McFadden, Reggie Bush, etc were great RB prospects as well. Where are you going with this topic. You went from Zeke being a head case and not in AP/Gurley's class to best RB prospect. WTF man. You are all over the place.

Well I could say the same about Zeke's college highlights. Which one is it? Pay attention to the pros or college. Zeke's college highlights speak for themselves. Pretty damn impressive.

You are really going way off track here. Now we are talking about what a prospect is instead of actually doing it on the field consistently for years. OK Like I said, can we see what Gurley does before elevating him to the status of Peterson. He hasn't done anything yet to deserve those accolades. That's all I'm saying. You are going into an entire new territory with this prospect stuff and what he did in college. Zeke's college performance is far superior to Gurley's if you want to go that route.

"Serious" issue with Cam? Nah...

Cam having fun on the football field? If that's what you call it...

My statements were hilarious? Well, I'm glad I could make you laugh...

Hater? Yeah, I guess if my posting my opinion about a smug and arrogant NFL player in the NFL thread makes me a hater, then I guess I'm guilty as charged.

However, since you've made a pretty personal comment about me, how can you even begin to guess to the "kinda" person I am, from an opinion posted in a forum? I guess I'd rather be a "hater" than a troll.

As I mentioned in my post. We'll see where Cam is in 2 years. If he's still as good as he was in 2015, I'll be man enough to give him the props he deserves for his skills and has maintained his success.

But, right now all I see in Cam Newton is the same thing I saw in Colin Kaepernick a few years back. A cocky QB, who happens to be surrounded with weapons and success.

Will Cam Newton end up where Colin Kaepernick is today and be on a team that goes 5 - 11 because of some coaching changes and players lost to free agency? We'll see in 2017-2018.

I agree with all of this except Cam becoming the next Kaep. I don't see that. The Panthers have built a really strong group of players, and I don't see salary cap/FA being a big issue for them. Keep in mind, Cam did all this without Kelvin Benjamin... who I was expecting huge things from this year. That guy is a beast. With Benjamin back next year, the Panthers are going to be favorites in the NFC once again.

And I say all of this as a HUGE Cam hater... when it comes to his antics. I love the player and recognize he's a great guy off the field, but he's taken it too far this season. I was pulling for the Panthers back when they were 5-0 or so, but they started getting a bit too cocky for my liking.

I don't feel great about it now after seeing how awful Palmer was last week... But it would be beautiful to see the Cardinals dabbing all along the Panthers stadium in a victory.

Cam is a young pup, he has no respect, would be nice if the banged-up Cardinals could teach him some.

Heh kinda, although that whole young talented unproven guy replacing the aging starter reminds me more of Tony Romo and Drew Bledsoe than Cam Newton and whoever he replaced.

NFL has been testing a new headset communication system and will try it out at the pro bowl.

Cue Patriots jokes
