If Peyton loses, I really hope it's not embarrassing this time.

Would really suck for him to fall to 1-3 in Super Bowls while his inferior brother is 2-0... Either way, he's obviously a first ballot Hall of Famer, but he'd forever be known for 1-3, fair or not.

He was always a big rival and a lot of Titans fans couldn't stand him. For whatever reason, I never had that rivalry hate for him that I have had for other players because I guess I just respected him so damn much. Aside from one game against us, I never felt like he Lucked into wins like his inferior replacement has.

I usually hate the story book endings, and I said leading into the playoffs that if Peyton wins it all, the NFL is rigged... But now I want it. It's 50% because of my feelings towards Cam and 50% because I don't want to see Peyton get embarrassed in his final game.

As for the matchup, this might be where missing Kelvin Benjamin comes back to haunt the Panthers... Cam is going to have to make a lot of plays with his legs because from the pocket when the pressure's coming are Ginn, Brown, Funchess, Cotchery really going to be able to get open in time against the Broncos elite secondary? Cam will have to extend a lot of plays.

You forgot Greg Olsen, Denver has struggled immensely against Tight Ends this season, but I think Denvers secondary is overrated anyway. Just wait

I definitely didn't forget about Olsen. He's probably going to be the most targeted Panther. Was just referring to the WRs. Denver's secondary is definitely not overrated... we'll see, I guess.

Panthers definitely have the edge, but if the Broncos play the way they did against the Pats, they have a good shot. And yes, I know the Pats OL was a travesty and the Panthers isn't.

I think it will be a fairly competitive game, but I do think the Panthers will win. I don't see a blowout.

I'm pretty sure a fair amount of these residents will buy a fair amount of tickets/ season tickets. Not to mention local businesses buying sky suites.
That, coupled with the aforementioned tourists could make for quite the popular ticket.
The whole notion of the NFL shying away from Vegas due to gambling, is nonsense. Plenty gamble on all the NFL teams that don't reside in Las Vegas.
Number of residents is a horrible indicator of how supportive a community will be for a franchise. Green Bay has a very small population yet they sell out games for decades on end and have a mile long wait list for season tickets. Meanwhile LA (where everyone wants to move these days) has a lousy history of fan support with every prior team that was these relocating out of the city.

My guess is a Vegas team would pan out similar to Florida's franchises. Fans would show up for a few years and come back when the team is great but overall attendance and TV viewership would lag due to the transient nature of the city, similar to Florida.

I really don't think he realizes how bad he is. I can easily see Peyton signing with a team like Houston next year under the mistaken belief that he can put a borderline playoff team like that over the top. I hope I'm wrong but I don't see this guy going out on top like Elway even if the Broncos win.

Assuming his drug issues have been cleaned up, Noah Spence is going to be a stud in the NFL.

I want the Titans to go Ramsey/Spence with our first two picks.

You missed my point. I didn't say residents are the "be all/end all", but that locals coupled with the tourists would seem to make this a popular venue. Not to mention it would be the only pro game in town. Unlike LA and Florida where they have several pro sports options, thusly forcing people to make a choice. At least those that have a small sports viewing budget.
Of course there's only one way to find out.

So, random post...

Not really into football, but my boyfriend was at the casino a few weeks back. His family cycled one of the biggest amounts of money last year (his parents are addicted... but it's their "hobby" for retirement) and we got free tickets to the super bowl! We leave Friday, come back Monday.

Maybe going to the super bowl will make me enjoy the sport more...

So is anyone actually going to watch the Pro Bowl? I haven't watched more than 10 min of any Pro Bowl for a good decade now. I just can't justify it. Not just because it's football played at 1/4th speed, but because they turned it away from NFC vs. AFC into some weird pickup game where players are picked as if it's some schoolyard game.

I don't think I've ever intentionally watched any amount of a pro bowl game. I've stumbled on it while flipping through channels and left it on for a few minutes before, but that's it.

I love all levels of football, but I just never can get myself to watch the Pro Bowl and enjoy it. It's like the Senior Bowl. A very watered down version of football.

Dunno if Megatron is a hall of famer if he retires now. Seems borderline.

Unfortunately, Megatron won't make it in.

He would've need a few more seasons. He'll fall short.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Calvin Johnson told Lions coach Jim Caldwell that he plans to retire.

Megatron informed Caldwell of his retirement decision "the day after the regular season ended." Per Schefter, Johnson had told friends and family he planned to make 2015 his final NFL year before the season began. The Lions reportedly "haven't given up hope" that Johnson will change his mind, but a "person close to him" says Johnson is "pretty content" with his decision. Johnson turned 30 years old in September. He has the entire offseason to reconsider -- with a $16 million salary hanging in the balance -- but there seems to be no question Megatron is serious about retirement at this point in time.
