I've been trying to figure it out all day. What did this guy say that made them insult him with a $30K offer? Just doesn't make sense.

Seems like the NFL just squeezing the little guy, since he can only sell it, legally, to the league, and they know it.
I hope with today's social media driven climate, this story gains traction and the guy receives his asking price.

EA Madden NFL predicts 24-20 Panthers. They got the score and winner correct last year and have called the winner 9 out of the last 12.

I'd love to see a rich guy offer the guy $1 million to set fire to the tape livestream on the internet. Now THAT would get the NFL's attention and push them to back down. Threaten to destroy the tape would probably be my course of action.

That would be kind of neat...but on the other hand losing such footage, forever....
Hopefully they can reach an agreement!

Here's some leverage that could happen....

Have a millionaire/billionaire playboy buy the footage from the guy. The guy gets his big payday.

The new owner, who would scoff at a $30,000.00, let alone a million dollar selling price, is now content to just lay on the footage until the NFL shows how much they really want it.

I mean, if I didn't need the money, and I had something so rare like a tape of Super Bowl I, I might be inclined to just keep it to myself.

I don't think he can legally sell it. Therein lies the rub. Factor in the NFL is probably watching this guys finances like a hawk, which means the guy is stuck.
Meanwhile the NFL is making it rain Billion dollar tv contracts. Such a crock!

It's not like he asked for that much. A million dollars is a drop in the bucket. The NFL can kick rocks if that's true. Who's making these decisions? Jerry Richardson?

ahh, damn, right.

Well, what's to say that he can't just give/gift the tape to his new friend (who happens to be a billionaire)?

Then the new friend can show his appreciation for their friendship down the line, with unrelated parties, money, and other material shows of affection?

I'm telling ya, there's gotta be a way to do this...

Yep, I'm a big enough fan of the NFL I'd probably buy the film from that guy for a few million if I'd won the recent Powerball jackpot.
