nfl got a 4.6 so i doubt the playoff game was that high....probably around a 4.2.

According to TVbythenumbers.com it's expected that baseball will win the 18-49 demo as well. The preliminary numbers show this will be NBC's lowest-rated Sunday night football game since the 2008 week 17 game between the 7-8 Chargers against the 8-7 Broncos for the AFC West title.

Man that Saints / Colts game was crazy last night. I don't think I've seen a much higher score than 62 before. What's the highest someone has ever scored? 80 something?

I wonder if the Ravens / Jags game will be a blow-out too. Our defense is gonna tear apart that rookie Jags QB!

It looks like the highest-scoring game (by one team) was a 73-0 victory by the Bears over the Redskins in the 1940 NFL Championship game.

if you're the one fumbling, throwing picks, or missing tackles to throw a game, maybe some of the coaching staff or locker room is on it but to the rest of the league, you're just jeopardizing your own career

so unless you're already a perennial backup player, nobody is willing to throw games

Yea but that includes the fox nfl overrun from 7-8 which was huge so yes fox will win the night.

Santana Moss is undergoing surgery on his fractured left hand Monday and will miss "at least a month," according to the Washington Post.
ESPN 980 Washington reported late Sunday that Moss' timetable was 3-4 weeks, so the Post's report is more gloomy. The missed games will be Moss' first since the 2007 season. It's worth noting that rookie Niles Paul started in a three-receiver set against the Panthers, across from Jabar Gaffney and Moss. Paul and Anthony Armstrong figure to get the biggest play-time bumps with Moss out. Fantasy owners can consider dropping Moss in 10- and 12-team leagues.

Gruden won that Super Bowl because he coached Oakland right up until the previous season and knew their entire system. It was no surprise they blew them out in the Super Bowl. After that 2002 Super Bowl season he coached the Bucs to a crappy 45-51 record and never winning another playoff game. He was always a very average coach IMO.

Tony Sparano will remain the Dolphins' head coach for the "near-term," sources tell the Miami Herald.
Reports last week said that Sparano would be "reevaluated" if the Dolphins lost to the Broncos. They did, and the Dolphins have now lost nine straight games. However, owner Stephen Ross is traveling to the West Coast on business, making a move this week unlikely. Sparano's seat will remain hot on a week-to-week basis.

It's been the front office more than the coach. Sparano isn't the greatest coach, but you could hire Tony Dungy or Bill Cowher and they'd still suck with the personnel they have right now.

Updating a previous item, Profootballtalk.com reports that Willis McGahee did require surgery on the fractured fourth metacarpal in his hand and will be sidelined for 1-2 weeks.
He had the surgery on Monday. The Broncos are expected to move forward with Knowshon Moreno in the lead back role, and Lance Ball handling inside and short-yardage carries against Detroit in Week 8. The Lions have been soft against the run all season. The 1-2 week timetable is actually better than expected. Fantasy owners need to hang onto McGahee, who should emerge from the injury in Week 9 or 10 with his featured running back role intact.

Right now Aaron Rodgers has a better QB Rating than either Peyton Manning or Tom Brady did in their record breaking seasons.

Tom Brady (2007) - 50 TD/8 Int, 68.9% comp, 117.2 QB rating
Peyton Manning (2004) - 49 TD/10 Int, 67.6% comp, 121.1 QB Rating
Aaron Rodgers (2011) - 20 TD/3 Int, 71.5% comp, 125.7 QB Rating

Rodgers is on pace for a 46 TD, 7 Int season. And it seems a bit hard to argue Roidgers has a better receiving core than Peyton or Brady did in their record seasons. Peyton had Wayne, Harrison and Stokley all break 1,000 receiving yards in 2004. Brady had Randy Moss, Welker and Stallworth.

With that kind of depth, I'm surprised they throw to the backs at all. Driver is probably in his last season in GB though, they appear to be phasing him out.

They are check downs and/or screens.

The Packers very rarely if ever split a back out wide or in the slot.
