Really what happened is the dolphins realized they were winning and threw the game to remain in compitition for Luck. We are going to see possible three teams intentionally throwing games to remain in the hunt for the first overall draft pick this season. It's time Goodell fixes this with the top three worst teams having a lottery draw, in a 16 game schedule the NFL can not afford to have teams intentionally dogging it for a better draft pick. Clearly we have more then one team this year gunning for this spot and it should be fixed this season not next IMO.

Teams are not throwing games. There may be some owners that would be fine with their team losing all their games at this point but there will never be a coach or players that would be told to throw games. If teams were intentionally throwing games and the league found out that owner would lose ownership of the team and there could be criminal charges for everyone involved.

Dungy said last night that he was saying the Colts should look into trading Luck if they got the #1 pick, not Manning. After last night's game it's clear the Colts have a ton of needs so if they believe Manning can get healthy and play for 3-4 more years I'd at least explore trading the #1 pick if they got it.

I'd be curious what the Rams would do if they got the #1 pick. I wonder if they'd look into trading Bradford (and potentially alienating him if he found out like the Cutler situation with the Broncos) or if they'd immediately say that Bradford is their quarterback and they're going to trade the pick.

I agree you figure a team like the Redskins would trade a TON to get Luck from them. I'd see at least two 1st rounders a second maybe a few starters/ quality guys.

I don't see Peyton Manning taking another snap in his career.

Sorry i disagree, we dont see lotterys in most sports these days because the league wanted to spice up the draft. You are blind if you think teams will not give up to remain in the top spot.

Miami a team that has not had a qb since marino left a decade and a half ago will do anything including throwing games like they did yesterday to hopefully finally land a franchise qb! They quite last week against the jets and did it with 5 minutes to go yesterday and it was clearly obvious!

And criminal charges for what, they are not throwing games because of betting, there are no laws against teams dogging it for a draft pick nor any rules within the nfl for it at this moment.

I tend to agree, what good are all those 50+ million dollar contracts and tv spots if you get stuck in a wheelchair for the rest of your life.

He's a top5 qb and he's a sure fire HOFer. Go make 500k-1million+ a year at espn and call it a day

Will anybody agree with me now that the Colts should FIRE Jim Caldwell after a DISGRACEFUL performance last night? I never wanted Caldwell to be our coach when Dungy retired.

Since my 1st choice won't be our HC (Jon Gruden) then I'm hoping my 2nd choice will be our HC, Jeff Fisher.

Good point. Also, like someone mentioned last week, players are playing for bonus and their next contract. It would make no sense whatsoever for players and coaches to suck on purpose.

Caldwell should have been fired after calling a timeout to help the Jets set up a critical play in last years playoff game.

Yeah, that was a horrible call. I remember there was a shot of Peyton Manning after the timeout and he just look dumbfounded and shocked. When Dungy was leaving he made certain Caldwell would be his successor but Caldwell has just been horrible at managing games and it's clear Peyton Manning was the main reason the team was successful.

Jim Caldwell isn't cut out to be a HC for the Colts, let alone a NFL team. He had a LOSING record at Wake Forest HELLO.

#1 pick in the draft or not, he got to be gone.

1 more thing about last night's game, you can tell clear as day that Peyton was pissed off when they showed his face more than 1 time.

If anything the Colts should draft Luck and have Peyton groom him for the future. Then keep Manning on staff as either QB coach, Offensive Coordinator, or even head coach one day.

I don't know if I see Manning becoming a coach. Even low-level assistants usually put in (at least) 80 hour weeks almost year-round and I don't know if Manning, who is probably worth well over $100 million would want to do that when he could join one of the pregame shows, work 15 hours a week for half the year and make more money.

On the other hand, I always got the impression Manning is one of those who loves the "chess match" of football, something he can't really get from just being in one of the pre-game shows.

I don't know which way I see Manning headed.

How does that help ?

I would still want to go 0-16 to lock myself into the lottery.
