![]() All the NFL would need to do is make it a requirement for broadcasting rights, no 4k, no contract! I believe this is the 3rd season going with the same amount of games broadcasted in uhd 4k, 0 expansion of it which blows! |

Same gores for audio. I still get plain ol' 2-channel PCM on a lot of stations/channels (NFL Network, CBS, and Fox included). I realize it's also about the majority of people simply don't care, but sill, basic Dolby Digital 2.0 has been around longer than a lot of members on this site have been alive.

Just set your receiver to Dolby Surround or Dolby Digital 5.1 if you want simulated surround. Make sure to crank it up so you can hear “GREEN NINETEEN” nice and loud. ![]() |

But I don't mean that as as a complaint. DSU with PCM still sounds great, in which case I'm listening to exactly that and have it cranked up a bit right now for those green nineteens. ![]() Editt: Side note, I've been using Neural:X more and more for PCM if I'm streaming a movie that isn't in multi-channel audio. I think I like it more than DSU. Same goes for DTS-HD MA. Last edited by red_5ive; 10-17-2021 at 07:29 PM. |

And speaking of Sunday Ticket, I missed the apparently wild Cowboys game and tuned in to the Raiders/Broncos instead. But at least I have all week to re-watch, although I'm it'll get a replay on NFL Network. Last edited by red_5ive; 10-18-2021 at 12:48 AM. |

I actually wondered about this myself and could never find an answer. My guess is, the service or maybe even the DTV is using a real-time encoder, perhaps something like Dolby Digital Live. So it technically wouldn't be an end-to-end 5.1 broadcast (which I don't think any sports broadcasters have implemented), just more post processing/DSP type of thing.
