Good to see you back by the way. I was shocked when i heard you got banned for 6 months. They changed it? That was way too long for a little argument.
You would have nowhere to see Hateful 8 in 70 anyway because Star Wars took all of the screens.

The prequels were terrible but they were just as hyped and actually had good actors coming in like Ewan McGregor, LIAM NEESON, Sam Jackson. They couldn't save the prequels but don't have much faith that these new ones are gonna be THAT much better than the prequels.

I mean Abrams already saying he isn't doing episode 8 and looks scared shitless on every interview doesn't make you very confident in these films.

If the originals are 9/10s, the prequels are 4/10s I think these will be 6/10s and everyone's hyping them to be 8/10s.

What I'm trying to say is, F Star Wars. They are ruining my Hateful Eight experience.
I pretty much agree with everything you're saying

You and me both, Dreamliner!

Not to mention finally seeing Lawrence of Arabia in theaters for the first time in 70MM! Got a lot of movies to see by the time the year is over!

I would still love a sequel to Django

Tarantino actually helped write a sequel comic that's pretty damn good. Check it out, Chris, you might enjoy it.

Indeedy, that's why I had to stifle a giggle when I saw that gushing IMAX Star Wars featurette, they're all going on about how amazing it is and how IMAX care about quality first and foremost, but the sad fact is that most IMAX theaters will be showing it on their 2K digital projectors, with Laser and 15/70 restricted to just a handful of venues worldwide. Sheesh, at least Hateful 8 will get a 4K DCP, unlike Star Wars thanks to the 3D which will restrict it to 2K rez (although I suppose it could get a separate 2D 4K DCP, but I doubt it'll happen).

I've looked at what potential cities in the UK will have 70mm prints of this, looks like it's between the Liverpool Picturehouse and the Bradford Museum. Also looks like Edinburgh will have one as well, but I don't know how reliable the source was and I can see nothing confirmed on all those places sites

That's why I've been so miffed about QT not giving the po' white digital trash the full length version; chance would be a fine thing for us Britishers! I live on the South coast, so getting up to Liverpool, Bradford or Edinburgh is completely out of the question for a frickin' movie.

Those are the only ones near me, full list is here mate.

I agree that the digital version is a lesser version in general though, like there's no reasoning to the shortening of footage.

Wow, a whole two more venues! He said, tongue in cheek.

Thanks for the list Foggy but I'm still shafted, getting up to London using public transport at this time of year costs a bloody fortune. If there was something Southampton way I'd be a bit less narked.

It'll get show in Austin in 70mm for sure at a minimum, everywhere else seems to be up in the air.

I asked Bradford Media Museum a couple of weeks ago & they said they weren't sure which version they would be showing.

Ive seen it- Most of the additional minutes is a audio recap of what's gone on to footage of the Hateful 8 looking at each other with suspicion- which a version without an intermission certainly wouldn't need.
