And now this very cool retro packaging for Stranger Things.
The other releases are from the various parent studios, such as Sony, and they are responsible for the disc releases. Stranger Things is one of the few Netflix releases that is actually PRODUCED by Netflix Studios.

Not as bad as some. I just stuck it with the rest of the S's. Plus I've got a bit of a haul this week so reorganization will be a must. I bought six movies, this series and two more are on the way.

Most 4k Netflix streams are around 16 Mbps. The only real comparison would be if Netflix (highly unlikely, I know) were to release UHD Blu-ray versions with HDR10 or, even better, Dolby Vision.

Given my stance on scalpers, I was able to pick up a few more extra copies that I'm happy to pass along at actual cost, plus actual shipping, no markup, to any international or Canadian fans who are looking for a copy and prefer to purchase from a forum member rather than eBay. The item will be very well-protected in a new shipping box. Note that these do seem to be region 1/A. PM me if interested.

The Lord of the Rings Extended Trilogy comes in a box with a magnetic closure, and the Fellowship of the Ring has a weird green tint throughout the entire movie.

If stock gets low and there's no price change I'll pick it up, otherwise I'm waiting
Aren't they hour long episodes? That means you're getting 16-24 episodes worth of content for $25. That's more than some of the anime releases I buy that are twice that price for less episodes.

I haven't watched the show yet, but as far as I am concerned, it is better on disc because I actually own it.

Sorry, but discs will always look superior to streaming. I'm sure 4K is nice and all, but nothing beats an actual physical product.

As for the size, it actually fits on one of my TV series shelves.

Oh, and my Target had 24 copies when I got there at opening, with one copy for me, one copy went to a guy that walked up just after I did, and then I saw another guy grab 15 copies.

Someone mentioned it's possible that once stores open, you can order online for pickup, I can confirm that. Only option it showed this morning was delivery, waited a few hours, available for pickup today! Can't wait!

Magnets will only damage a blu-ray if you physically scratch the disc with it....really hard. LOL

You're arguing two completely different things. This isn't an argument over Physical vs Streaming, yet you seem to be using that to make a blanket statement that physical always trumps streaming in picture quality, which is completely inaccurate.

What do you mean by "the only real comparison would be...?" Are you saying the Blu will necessarily look better or worse? I don't think either is a given.

Went to my local Target this morning. They had about 20 or so copies. A few people buying, but nothing too crazy.

The ads show a free poster, but the employees were saying they didn't get any. The set does come with its own. Oh well.

Such a great looking set. This is why I cannot see physical media dying.

Yep, I stopped by the ghetto Target on the way in to work and of course they did not have any out yet or even placeholders. Checked Target on my phone and at the nice Target they had store pickup listed on the site with the option to order. Did it on the phone and just picked it up. They had tons of them on the shelf too.

Warner Brother's releases Blu-Rays with 7-8 episodes per disc and extras and they always look perfectly fine...

Unless Netflix totally f'd up the compression ratio (on purpose) with the S.T. Blu-ray, their 1080p streams are normally single digits and this should average in the mid 20's with four episodes per disc.

Their 4k streams are in the teens and I've seen UHD Blu-ray's in the 80's and up when the studios were being generous (especially on a BD-100).

From a compression quality standard, physical discs should be superior.

I've seen many a Netflix and Amazon stream riddled with compression anomalies.

Another thing you aren't considering... Netflix dynamically compresses their audio tracks when creating a streaming file. They call it "normalizing" as they don't want their layman customers complaining that they have to ride their volume knobs.
