The Duffer Brothers themselves have envisioned the show to run 4 seasons at max, although plans could always change. It's certainly looking to reach at least 4 seasons since it's very popular for Netflix. No official confirmation from Netflix yet regarding S3.

Most likely right before they release season 3 on Netflix. I don’t know about anyone else but I thought the 2nd season was even better than the 1st.

I think they were successful at not being worse than Season 1, but I wouldn’t say Season 2 was better.

Thank you. Hm, not sure if it's better to just wait then for a future boxset then (though I have a weakness for the VHS-style cover on this one, gotta say.)

It's been over a year since I watched season 1 so maybe I'll feel different after a re-watch, but I enjoyed season 2 more.

Both seasons were fantastic though. Was glad to see Will have a bigger part this time around too.

With the exception of episode 7, season 2 is pretty solid & I had the luxury of watching season one when I purchased the Blu Ray at Target about a week before season 2 began, so I was instantly hyped. I would buy season 2 in a heartbeat no questions asked, does need some special features.

I have no problem paying $25 for this if it means that Netflix will release season 2 in a year or so.

I picked up one of those flyers from Family Video that tells you what releases they will have every week and on November 14th they have Stranger Things Season 1 listed. I don't know if they are just going to buy and rent the Target sets or if they have some type of rental agreement from Netflix or if it's a wide retail release.

Just picked this up at Target.

Bummed though that it's likely going to be 2019 before we get S3 or a BD of S2. If they do release a BD of S2 I hope it's in a matching package. This distressed VHS imitation case is awesome.

This may have been asked/answered in this thread, but I saw that Target will have the S1 exclusive box set for $9.99 during BF, but I am not sure if its the Blu-ray set or the DVD release?

It's a BD/DVD combo. There is only one release.

since s3 premieres oct 2018 i am pretty sure s2 Blu-Ray will be out in september before the new season starts. Just like they did this year. And thats how they will continue to do it to create more awareness and anticipations for the new seasons coming to Netflix. Last season could be out much sooner on Blu-Ray though

I hope you're right. I read somewhere the production schedule for S3 might not be the same as it was for S2, making an Oct release less likely. Would be a shame not to capitalize on the natural time of year to release it (Halloween), so hopefully they get it done in time.
