Very cool packaging on this. Wider than I had pictured in my mind, and the VHS cassette box that holds the discs is a nice thick cardboard with a magnetic closure. High quality feel!

Can anyone comment on the danger the magnets in the packaging can do to the discs?

Yeah, they can demagnetize the tape.

Decided to check ebay, and copies so far are selling for about $40ish right now. Still reasonable for any international buyer who wants one

With four episodes per disc, I for one hope so.

Just got mine, the store had around 30 copies. No spider-wrap or coffins.

I always thought magnets and electronics just don’t mix. Is there any chance of the discs being ruined by staying in the packaging? What about putting them on a shelf next to other blurays. I would love the packaging but the magnets concern me.

Does this release come with the free poster inside or is the poster available separately in store as a free add-on?

Yeah, I really enjoyed my early morning run! Not sure I can bring myself to open my copy though. Unless there are bonus features of course. Will wait to see what others find.

I ordered one online just now, a couple of hours before my local stores open. It showed not available at my usual spot. In fact there are several in my area but only two showed it available for in-store pick up. Chose one for piece of mind because I'll be at work by then. But hoping it's in generous supply in every store come 8am.

Discs aren't electronics. They're optical, and made mostly of plastics. Magnets have no impact on them. Stuff like Hard disks are affected by magnets, not optical media.

I have two Targets that are about equal distance, and I specifically went to the one that doesn't use spiderwraps. Though the dents in this packaging would almost fit with the style of the case.

There are photos a page or two back -- it's inside the case.

If anyone is in a store using spider wraps ask to see if they still have copies they haven't wrapped. I have a feeling many stores aren't putting every copy they have on the shelves. Worth a try.

Magnets do not harm optical media, it is techically impossible. Now magnetic media like VHS tapes or floppy disks is another matter.

And FYI: there are magnets in speakers and headphones.

I can vouch for the DVD at least being bare bones (only have a DVD drive here, so I can't check the blus, but I'd assume they're similar):

The first disc also opened with an odd hybrid of the first and second trailer. It's almost identical to the ComiCon trailer, except that they don't use Thriller all the way through. Instead, it changes to the music from the second trailer. But there are a few additional shots in there that weren't in either trailer (after Will says "I felt it", they cut to him standing at the open door like in the soundtrack art, THEN cut to his saying "everywhere", etc). Very weird. Personally, I still think the ComiCon trailer was the best...actually, that was just the best trailer I've seen in years period.
