Yes, the poster is folded inside the case itself. There are pictures a few pages back.

Heh. Just read this thread and you'll be cured of that. People are actually saying that $25 *isn't* a good deal for this. SMH

It should still be in stock. Shipping is free with a $35 purchase, so if there's something else you want for ~$10, you can qualify.

Default For those of you who weren't around prior to the DVD era.

I have a helpful tip for those of you who might be having trouble opening the flap once taking the cassette tape out of the sleeve. Visual provided below.

Once taking the cassette out the sleeve just push the little square tabs in on each side. You can see one of the tabs in the pic above on the right side.

Their 4k streams are in the teens and I've seen UHD Blu-ray's in the 80's and up when the studios were being generous (especially on a BD-100).

From a compression quality standard, physical discs should be superior.

I've seen many a Netflix and Amazon stream riddled with compression anomalies.

Another thing you aren't considering... Netflix dynamically compresses their audio tracks when creating a streaming file. They call it "normalizing" as they don't want their layman customers complaining that they have to ride their volume knobs.
This is exactly my point. These discs should, in theory, have a better bitrate than the 4K stream, so technically, they COULD look slightly better, even WITH the lower resolution of blu-ray. I'm definitely considering everything already that you just posted. I was just trying to figure out whether you were arguing that the discs SHOULD look better or that the 4K stream SHOULD look better...because you weren't being clear on that. And, as you say, there are many variables to consider. That's why I'm interested in a comparison between the Blu-ray and the 4K stream. I don't think the latter will necessarily look better simply because it's 4K.

What an odd decision making this exclusive to Target. I hope that we eventually get a standard release and that it isn't exclusive to Target.

You can't compare bitrate numbers of a Blu-ray directly to a 4K stream. It won't tell you anything.

Also, people have already confirmed in the past that 4K streams of shows like House of Cards, Breaking Bad, and others look better than their Blu-ray counterpart. I don't see any reason that wouldn't be the case here.

I can understand. Why buy this when you can stream it right?

The funny thing is we've gone full circle. A streaming show, made available on blu-ray, then DVD, in a case that looks like a VHS tape.

We really are in the upside down.

BTW, Target also released some other Stranger Things Merchandise today. Shirts, Funkos, Board Games, etc. Anyone pick those up?

It'll tell you which one has a higher bitrate.

But yes, I know what you're saying. Apples to oranges. All I'm getting at is that higher resolution at a lower bitrate doesn't necessarily mean a superior image (nor does a higher bitrate at a lower resolution). Which is why they are worth comparing IMO.

Just back from my local Target. They had 20 on the shelf. I picked one up. Didn't see any of the other merchandise there though...

It might be easier for me to justify buying this of it had some features. But damn that packaging is tempting.

Just got back from Target.

My local store had plenty to go around. Probably the same for other stores in town.

That's not why. It's because 4K streams, like UHD, use more advanced codecs than Blu-ray. It uses HEVC (h.265) rather than AVC (h.264). HEVC allows for much better quality with more compression, so what might look like a low number for a Blu-ray does not necessarily translate to interior quality for a 4K stream. Now, compared to a UHD, there's no question the stream will be inferior.

I don't personally see why it matters. If one is better than the other, what difference would it really make. I don't think there are a ton of people who are basing their purchase decision on that.

The packaging is cool, until you see how the discs are stored. I was actually expecting paper sleeves though, to be honest.
