Or more to the point, it's an ill omen if $25 for a season of TV is considered too expensive, especially with this title which is sending all sorts of messages good and bad to Netflix about whether to bother putting things on disc.

I get that after piracy and streaming many see media as worthless. I get that we can't expect people to pay $100 for a season of Star Trek anymore. However if people don't support any release, if they wait for a sale on everything, then all it's gonna mean is no niche physical format market can exist and we get nuthin', zip, squat. No one's asking anyone to pay 2001 prices again or to buy everything day one, but you do on some level need to pay up if you want discs to get coming out.

Yes, the back does say Region 1.

DVDs are Region 1 and Blu-rays are Region A.

The mockup is incorrect.

That was a surprisingly nice touch. Notice also that the Netflix logo on the DVD disc labels are upside down. They're missing the DVD logo as well.

They are making nothing on these. Fees are around 13%. If they bought them with no tax, they're making like $2 lol. Never understand if these people don't realize eBay and PayPal take a cut, or just terrible at math.

The electronics clerk at one of our local Targets said they had a large line at 8 am waiting for the store to open.

Wait for it... It was the TOY scalpers, they bought every ST action figure in sight ! But that's the way it is in this town, all cool toys and chase figures are gone when any store opens.

Anyway, I bought the 2nd or 3rd ST bd set that morning. Plus the two mugs.

Oh, and the OCD in this thread makes my brain want to explode !!!

I also showed up bright and early this morning. I walked in and this set was nowhere to be found. I asked a sales person near the electronics department, them he went and opened a brand new box of them behind the kiosk and handed me one. How they didn't already have this out on display idk. Although I seemed to be the only person in the store who cared about this release at that point this morning.

I had no problem dropping $25 on this, and I'm not even a huge fan of the show.

It's a good series and this set is clever. It looks great and obvious care went into it. I love unique sets like this, and it being as sturdy/heavy as it is instead of just some cheap cardboard piece of crap is a welcome surprise.

My sole complaint would be I would have loved it that much more if they used this poster for the cover:

[Show spoiler]

Hopefully Target sticks with the VHS theme for future releases and doesn't leave us hanging.

Held a copy in-store and almost purchased it. Awesome packaging. As tempting as this set is, I’ll keep enjoying the 4K digital version until the series is complete and then get the entire series in 4K UHD Blu-ray. Everyone else...enjoy!

I grew up in the country. 20 miles to the nearest town. In my teens, a family a few miles up the road opened a family-owned movie rental and called it "Movies-n-More" (I think the "more" was Atari games). The "store" was just a re-purposed steel building (barn). They got the same merch the bigger stores in town got. They were constantly giving us our pick of movie posters and banners and cardboard displays. One of the cool things they gave me was a life-sized Dolph Lundgren "Punisher" proudly displayed in my bedroom window. Those were great times.

Cool packaging, I bought it.

The Emmy screener pressbook is also a cool package but I's rather see it in bluray.

I'm not sure Netflix will go to the trouble of releasing a 4K UHD series set when their goal is to make money by having people subscribe to their monthly service to watch these shows in 4K.

Sadly tried out the BLUs as Region B and they are region A Locked.

I’m sure Netflix will end up making deals to get releases down for other countries thru other distribution deals.

That is actually the first Funko Chase figure I've ever managed to grab. I didn't even think about it when I grabbed it, I bought the extra open-head Demogorgon because I liked the packaging and saw the variant behind it.
I'm sure scalpers exist around here, but they didn't get to this store in time.
This Target didn't have much of a Stranger Things section, it was just the figures and the Waffle game. There were some other ST games in the toy department. No Pops anywhere.

There was a Booksamillion a few blocks down that also had the figure 3-packs and Pops, so I guess those weren't exclusive to Target.

-
Even though they didn't have any of the Blu-rays on the shelves when I arrived, and the box I plucked my two from was virgin, the cashier remarked that she had sold one this morning. I'm guessing a eager fan came in early and asked for one from the back.

I had to run out to Target again, and I quickly checked the media and they had even more ST blu's than this morning. I think they're going to have these for awhile. That and I'm sure most people aren't going to pick it up since it's on Netflix. Personally, I like collecting this.

Most remotes have a skip button that looks like this (sorry for the shutterstock watermark):

That always does it for me.
