Nobody knew the darn thing was coming out. It was so stealthy even Netflix's PR & marketing firm probably forgot about it. You cannot build anticipation for something that everybody thought wasn't going to happen in the first place.

I'm sure it was already stated, but I went into Target today and they must have replenished, because practically the whole shelf was Stranger Things blu-rays. There was even a large display up front, probably about 50 total. So these things aren't going anywhere.

Some people seem to be confusing exclusive with limited. This set is in no way limited, they are stocked very well.

Anyone know why Target.com is not letting me buy it?

I'm kind of pissed that the opening of the disc is a trailer for ST2, which is not skippable or able to be fast forwarded and is around 3 minutes long. I have avoided seeing anything on the new season and had to mute the sound and walk out of the room until it was done. Why did they find the need to make it so you can FF or skip trailers on disc, who the **** cares, it's not relevant 1 month after the disc is released. If I can't skip it at least let me FF it.

Packaged in a box with bubble packs to keep it in good condition.
That's strange. I'm in Canada, and when it takes me to the international site it says "only in stores" and doesn't let me add it to the cart.

I finally got around to watching Season One of Stranger Things, by way of this Blu-ray set, after having several friends recommend the show to me as something that would be right up my alley. This show is just as good as everyone says, and this was a great way to spend seven hours on a rainy afternoon/evening.

Since I am an 80s kid with a steel trap memory, I always crack up while watching newer movies/shows that take place during that decade, because I can spot all of the chronological errors. For example, the cover of “Hazy Shade of Winter” by The Bangles was not released until a few years after the events that unfold during this show. Nonetheless, Stranger Things does a fine job of capturing the overall aesthetic of the era, and it conjures a flood of memories from my own gloriously misspent youth, complete with bicycle rides around the neighborhood with friends, well-built secret clubs in the woods behind our houses, and, of course, mix tapes on cassette.

I still love Winona Ryder, by the way.
I also love “Nocturnal Me” by Echo and the Bunnymen. That's a fine track from one of my all-time top five bands (although the song was released in 1984, one year after the events in this show.)

As for the Blu-ray presentation, it's quite beautiful both in terms of packaging and presentation.
It chaps my tail somewhat that I could not fast-forward over the Netflix previews to the main menu for the first disc, but that's a minor grievance.

I heard you can insert the second disc and select an episode and then put in the first disc and it will have the resume function to bypass the trailer lock, though i have not tried it myself someone said it worked.

The quality of both the show and the P/Q will make up for it.

This is the 2nd 80's set show (other being Freaks and Geeks) I've watched in a row.

As much as I love the show, being a fan prior to the hype and bandwagoning that came a little after the first season's Netflix release, I'm going to wait until the complete series comes out after the fourth and final season. By then 4K or whatever resolution physical media will be at will have this release and I won't have to double up.

I do look forward to that day.

I already watched the first season on Netflix last year (currently half-way through season 2) but I had to pick this up on Blu-Ray for that amazing packaging alone!

Sadly I couldn't get it directly from Target.com, even though they ship to the UK this item said "In store only". Ended up getting it on eBay.

Have had a quick skim through the thread but didn't notice if it was mentioned, is this region locked?
