Yeah, but the "matching" steelbooks for Da Vinci Code and Angel & Demons were BD only.

hehe, yes I thought do the same.
I just ask because the new 4k fifth element have the same old nice steel case with 4K discs inside. Maybe they do the same with busters...

The user reviews for this really do fill me with irrational nerd rage since this is far and away the best transfer I've seen yet. For any movie, on any format.

I was referring to ones like these:

This is the worst i have ever seen there is so much grain it is unwatchable this video company has a nerve releasing something as bad as this im returning it to the store .
Having said that, the "official" score of 4.5 for video is way too low

It was my first UHD wow moment, watching this. Amazed some say there's little improvement.

I'm thinking of getting this one this weekend as it's one of my all-time favorite movies. I have funkos of slimer and the stay puft on my work desk as I type this. Just wish it was sub 20.

I don't wish to upgrade every movie I have but all-times like this, t2 and ET I have to say yes. I'm running out of space, but these upgrades are really just replacements

So I finally received this and put it in based off yours and velvet's recommendations and it is indeed gorgeous. That grain was so beautiful from the opening shot.

Ordered this and 2. Can't wait to watch em.

Watching Ghostbusters now and it looks stunning. That grain is beautiful.

Came here to post that it's $16.99 at Best Buy but I see the above poster already did that.

My local Best Buy still had two sad looking copies on the shelf from last year. One even had a sticker on it for a discounted ticket to the 2016 Ghostbusters movie. Lol.

I guess waiting is beneficial as I picked this up today at Best Buy for $16.99 along with (checks receipt) Hidden Figures 4k and Princess Bride. Hidden Figures was missed when my wife and I went shopping at Best Buy three weeks ago and Princess Bride on Blu-ray was on sale for $7.99.

Seeing a number of older sci-fi movies shot on film released in 4k makes me realize those old movies with practical non-2k CGI effects look so amazing. So far I've seen ET, Blade Runner, Close Encounters and they look so fabulous compared to CGI-fests like Guardians of the Galaxy 2 in 4k.

So I watched Ghostbusters and it's the first of my film-based 4k movies where the grain was actually distracting at times, particularly indoors on a static image (like a background where the camera isn't moving). The HDR and WCG weren't overwhelmingly noticeable.

Rick Moranis still steals every scene he's in and makes a better foil for Sigourney Weaver than Bill Murray does. The evil dogs look great. And it's always nice to see the animation for things like lightning instead of CGI.

From a presentation standpoint, it's not my favorite UHD title and the cover is awful. But the movie is awesome, it still looks great compared to my DVD copy (no blu-ray) and is definitely worth $16.99.

Recommended. Would force my kids to watch it if I had kids.

Are the discs identical to the foreign release ones or are there differences ala subtitle and audio track choices?

I picked up the UK release for the better cover, but then I look at the discs and they have the logo backwards (unlike the cover art, which is usually backwards on the UK release)...and I feel like swapping the discs out when I see it on the cheap because I would prefer it not to be that way. Unless the specs don't match between different region releases. Example, Uni will put ENG/SPA/FRA tracks but then Euro will put every language track or subtitle choice imaginable. Or the audio tracks will use a lesser codec on the Euro.

$16.03 now - do OLED owners see “swarming ants” due to the heavy grain on this one?
