I one sentence you say that it looks fake. In another you say that "film is not real life" as if to suggest that it looks too real.

Can't have it both ways.

Sure you can. You want to hide the flaws, not shine a spotlight on them.

Let's go back to 480p then, and forget about 4K HDR. You could hardly see any flaws given the fuzzy nature of standard definition.

What he means is that HFR exposes the artifice of the medium, and for most (myself included) that isn't desirable. Like any other filmmaking tool, HFR presumably has its place. But personally, I don't think it's appropriate for many genres, and certainly not for full run times.

To each their own, though. But like it or not, 60fps is nowhere near becoming the new standard for filmmaking. This title certainly won't convince many, as it's too much technological tour de force and not enough movie.

Video reviews like this always compare within the same format, so I don't think it's misleading at all. Some just have an incorrect understanding of how the reviews work.

Higher resolution and HDR can expose flaws as well. Perhaps filmmakers should improve their craft to deal with any progress in technology that has the potential to expose any flaws in their work.

I have heard great things about the UHD on this film, so much that I purchased a copy of it yesterday with the Target B2G1 deal. I am hoping it lives up to the hype. I am not expecting a whole lot from the movie itself though, especially at 60 fps.

60fps is apt more immersive than 24fps

My son, his girl friend, my nephew and his buddy were all over last night watching this. They all liked it very much.

I found it to be funny, sad, intense at times, and thought provoking.

Everyone here enjoyed the HFR too.

I love HFR. I never experienced it other than by artificially enabling motion interpolation on my TV. Wish I wouldnt have missed the Hobbit in HFR when it first came out

I understand what you feel...uncomfort, dizzy and unrealized.

Why you are hated the HFR? Reason?...

i totally agree. i absolutley hate the 60p frame rate. yes the detail is nice but it looks awful. i know its intended but it doesnt look/feel like a movie. the soap opera effect is just too much/unnatural

i will never buy 60p again!

I saw the first one in 3D HFR, it was interesting felt like a video game more than a movie.

Will my SDR 4k TV play in 60fps?

Hold on. People feel dizzy and uncomfortable with smooth 60p but not with jittery 24p? I don't feel dizzy with either, but smooth and fluid motion making you dizzy as opposed to jittery camera work seems backwards.
