![]() Yes. I won't put up with any bullsh¡t. Pretty much the same for quite some now, except now I have zero tolerance for it. I'll cut somone out of my life with a quickness now. Life is about respect for me, and that's a quality few people have nowadays. |

Well, even if I'm young and you're old, there's only half a decade between us so I'll there soon enough.
![]() Age works that way, when you hit 20 you feel like you're getting old, then when you're 30 you realize you were still pretty much a kid at 20, and your perspective keeps changing the older you get. I've noticed 90+ year olds tend to refer to 40 and 50-somethings as "young", and from their perspective that is pretty young while to me turning 50 seems so far away. I think I'm both an old soul and a kid at heart, if that makes sense. |

I heard the news when I woke up at 5 this morning and went about my work day. Usually I'm detached from the news and the rest of the world generally enough to the point that tragedies like this don't hit me emotionally (though it never takes away from my empathy).
Right now though, I am having a hard time not crying over this. |

Very sad to hear about the victims of the hate crime in Orlando. Why are people in the world like that?
Something also on my mind in the news- the recent story about Brock Turner, the ex-Stanford student who raped the unconscious girl after a party. He's now the most hated man in America (well, second-most now) and his parents are just blindly supporting him. He got off with three months in jail, and what struck me the most is- does he not know how lucky he is that his parents willfully supported him after he committed rape? Mine would probably remind me daily about the inconvenience I made to them until the stress ate me alive. He got off way too lightly and now they're appealing that decision, makes no sense. This enabled him to lie and not take responsibility for what he did and not give the victim closure because the parents gave him a way out- why not plead guilty and just say, "I was awkward with women and wanted to touch her BECAUSE she was unconscious as I didn't think she'd remember it and suffer?" He's become vilified in the media because of the lying just to try to not appear like a beta, and how this all happened just boggles the mind. |
