What's even worse, waking up 30 minutes before the alarm because you really have to pee and then deciding whether you want to get out of bed to go pee and risk not being able to go back to sleep for that last little bit, or trying your best to use every last available minute of sleep time despite feeling the discomfort of a full bladder.

every damn morning, for me. even without the alarm, i wake up way earlier than i really want to because my bladder says, "hey! hey, man! i'm full. i need to go empty! YOU HEAR ME! I SAID NOW, DAMMIT!"

luckily on my off days i can do that and just crawl back into bed for a couple more hours.

I did a DNA test to figure out my ancestry. What I wasn't aware of is they take your DNA and connect it to other people you may be related to.

I never knew my grandfather but I had a name and I was connected to his nephew who seems to have done a significant family tree with dates and other ancestry gathering information.

I contacted him and introduced myself hoping to find out a little bit more about my grandfather. I wasn't looking to be embraced as a long lost relative, but the guy hasn't message me back after I told him how we were related. Note, he did respond to my first message when I said I was looking up information on a relative.

At first I was annoyed, but in the end, I have a family and wasn't necessarily looking to extend my current one. At least, I got to see pictures and know a little bit more than when I started.

I'd like to do that someday. I would just like to find out more about where my ancestors came from. Funny how in an age of, "I'm more American than you", I'm actually interested in hearing about how our family came from other countries and emigrated here to the States.
I hope this nephew does get back to you again. How long has it been since you sent him that second message?

And your post reminds me of an article I saw on MSN yesterday about a family reunion in China that brought together over 500 relatives

Well my mom is always telling me how proud I should be of my Italian heritage. I mean we're not hardcore Italian and don't ask what I mean by hardcore Italian lol but you know we're not the Sopranos or anything because only I have been to jail and not my whole family

Here's a pic from that article. Pretty impressive when you need a drone to take your reunion photo. I actually can't tell if this is all 500+ relatives.

It's been over a week. But you can also see when's the last time someone's been online. And he's on daily.

Yeah, I probably have a lot of new relatives.

Of course, the other disappointing thing was while the white part was really specific (Irish/English), the Asian part was very general. It's listed as East Asian and Polynesian.

Let's hope he gets back to you. I suppose if you don't hear from him in another week or so, it wouldn't hurt to try again. If he's not replying though after finding out you may be related, it's likely that he won the lotto recently

I've been thinking about going back to school and getting a BS in Astrophysics. The only problem is that I would have to take many remedial math classes just to get up to speed on the required courses. The first math class in the program is Calculus for Engineers I. I have always had an interest in space, and now it seems as though we are on the cutting edge of major discoveries almost daily.
