I haven't cared about Tim Tebow in about 10 years.

As far as the geography thing, I'm not surprised, the educational system in this country is a joke. I wouldn't be surprised if at least half of Americans didn't know America is the name of 2 continents.

Some idiot last week kept trying to convince me Mexico was in South America, and I had to get out a map and show him it’s in North America.

And then there are the fools that think "Latin America" and "Central America" are continents when they aren’t.

Morons don’t seem to understand, everything below Mexico is South America. Mexico and above is North America.

to be technical, central america is part of north america. Panama is the southern-most country in central america; so everything to the south of that is considered south america.

My geography is horrendously bad, I doubt I could name all 50 states without looking, much less half the state capitols. I probably couldn't name that many countries either but I imagine most Americans are far worse. How can we consider ourselves the best when so many of us probably have the equivalent of most countries' 10 year old education? Pretty embarrassing.

Are you smarter than a 5th grader? Probably not if you're an average American citizen and that 5th grader is from a 1st world country.

how right, you are. i can probably do all 50 states...but the capitols is another story, lol. i could probably get...maybe....half? maybe a bit less than half.

i remember back in 9th grade we had to memorize all of the counties of our state. that was a chore trying to remember 67 counties and where they are. the teacher gave us as blank map with all the counties outlined, and we had to write the names of the them in the proper places. i think i got a little over 40 correct. she said she started to make us memorize the county seats along with the counties...SO glad she didn't do that, lol. not that i'd ever retain that information. i can get maybe...10, now.

I've spent probably 75% of my life in this state and I doubt I could name most of the counties. The truth is I don't care, this state is a poophole.

and while a portion of this state is a poophole, there are some counties that are really good places to live. and i hope to move to one of them, one of these days. like the one where my sister lives. that county is WAY cheaper to live in due to lower property taxes, lower utility costs, etc. and, not that i have any kids or ever will, the school system is MUCH better than the one i'm in, now.


edit: i just went back and listed all the states i could think of (no cheating); i got 46/50. not too bad for someone who hasn't been in a geography class in....well let's just say it's been a while, lol.
