Anyone else feel uncomfortable sitting on a plane facing the back of the plane? Same could be said for other forms of transport, like a bus or train. I just can't comfortably do it. I feel it messes with my equilibrium.

For the bicyclists among us--why do "mountain" bikes have so many gears now? Seems like when I was young a characteristic of a mountain bike was less than ten gears (ususally 6 or 8 IIRC), but it seems like when I look at them now they are 15-26. Seems more complicated than useful, but maybe I'm completely wrong.

Regarding vertigo, motion sickness etc., if the camera shot in a television series (mainly with modern series) starts going in circles or a curved shape I cover my eyes or look away until that camera shot has finished. You see more on shows today camera shots made using drone cameras, but those don't seem as bad. I can remember back when shaky camerawork in US television shows was the new thing (that took some getting used to, but it can still cause giddiness etc.).
On a separate note, am not looking forward to the clocks going forward an hour this Sunday. But it will stay brighter later in the day though. |

I've been wondering why the Dell UltraSharp 40 productivity monitor that I have had for six weeks often blacks out briefly when going in and out of fullscreen programs like image viewers and when going through images. It was AMD FreeSync. The variable refresh rate available in the Windows Display settings keeps screen tearing out of my games without causing me these fullscreen annoyances. I'm so relieved that I finally figured it out.
