That's heartbreaking to hear. Like you said, always seemed like a nice guy and enjoyable to watch. I hope his remaining time is spent with those he loves and is as peaceful as possible.

He's going to handle the next Warriors home game and a Chicago Bulls game. He wants to finish with the championship team and his home team.

That brought some tears to my eyes. Even though the whole situation is heartbreaking, it's beautiful that he's finishing by doing what he loves... especially with the championship team and his home team.

Since I've been back to this site I've noticed some members looking down on others for their education and it is kind of sad. Nobody deserves to be looked down upon because they didn't go to college or because they dropped out of high school. I didn't graduate college, but I make just over $17 an hour (pretty decent for this area), am a warehouse lead, own a house, have an awesome wife, and enjoy my hobbies. I don't need to be looked down upon because someone else graduated from college.

There haven't been remarks made towards me, but remarks in general about maybe they need an education or that people that go to college are better for society than people who don't.

Just a thought on my mind...that is all.

could not agree more.

to me it's about happiness, not money or social standing.

neither my wife nor myself graduated college. i'm in the $20+/hour range and she's in the $18+/hour range.

we both have 1 year of college under our belts. i'd love to go back and at least get an associates degree done.

i went back to school when my company lost a government contract, not knowing if i'd be one of the few that were kept.

got 26 credits done in the fall, spring, and summer semesters. was signed up for my 4th semester when i got really sick, almost died. had to drop anything/everything that wasn't necessary in my life at the time.

since then, life has gotten in the way of going back.

was doing really well too, through those 26 credits, i was rocking a 3.96 gpa.

Hopefully you get back. What were you going for?

Funny thing for my wife and is she is a college graduate yet I make more. She has a degree in nursing, bit decided by the time she was done that isn't what she really wants to do. Now she is a CSR making $11 and hour with a nursing degree that she can make much more with. She is happy with what she is doing though so I'm good with it. It just sucks paying off loans for a degree she won't use.

Some people use it as a replacement for smoking and others use it to wean themselves off nicotine completely by gradually reducing the nicotine content. I know some people who use it without nicotine to curb sweet cravings. I don't know anyone who uses them to do lame ass vape tricks and look cool blowing sick clouds brah but according to the internet they are everywhere.

started out going for Mechanical Engineering. then i hit semester 4 and had to take Calculus online b/c my work schedule didn't allow me to go to the actual class when it was going on.

dropped it after about 3 days.

if i can go back and attend actual classes, i may try and pick it back up where i left off.

I've noticed this, too, and indeed it's very sad. I never look down upon someone who is able to work and works. Whether someone is mopping a floor or performing neurosurgery, they are working and contributing to society.

I'm very happy to see that you have a great life! What you mention: having a good job, a home to call your own, a wonderful spouse, and hobbies that make you happy... that's what life is all about! As long as you're happy, that's all that matters, and happiness is the best thing in the world, honestly.

Also, not to get off-topic, but I always enjoy your posts and you seem like a really great guy.

My mother actually was in a similar situation to your wife, too. My mother was very close to completing her degree in nursing, but then realized after working in that field for a while that it wasn't for her, so she dropped that pursuit and began working elsewhere. She actually did have a career in healthcare (from a related, but different, area) for a while, and made fantastic money for many years. She moved on to other fields when it was decided that her happiness and well-being was worth more than any amount of money (many employees were starting to cause so much trouble and be such terrible workers that it was a dreadful experience working there and the company closed quickly soon after my mother left; she was the glue of that place).

She's an amazing, strong woman and I love her dearly and have always looked up to her. And of course, having an incomplete college degree didn't stop her at all. The only thing that ever got in her way (and the way of my other family members) was illness. She has an immense drive within her and worked until it was absolutely not possible anymore. I know that my illnesses and injuries will soon enough render me unable to work, too, but I plan on working until it's impossible for me to continue. My whole life has been a fight to live and survive, and I'm going to fight until I can't anymore. I've always put in my best in everything, from school to work and anything in between. So until I can't, I will work hard and no matter what, always take care of my loved ones.

Sorry for talking so much in adding my two cents to this. Anyway, ArmyOfDarknessAW, I wish you and your wife lots of continued happiness and the best in life. You both seem like wonderful people.

My mind processing right now:
"I'm tired."

"Oh, that Batman vs. Superman movie is coming out tomorrow."

"Whatever."

"I think I'll take a nap."

Contemplating on whether to try and start writing a paper right now, or procrastinate it to a later day. Based on my past history, I really don't even know why I'm thinking on this. Procrastination always wins.

Just do what you feel like. Never a good thing to try and push yourself to do something. Mainly including writing. Because it never comes out well.
