The official Dallas Cowboys forum, been a mod there for about 10 years now. Definitely enjoying my first Thursday off from the gym in 5.5 months, can't wait to see what kind of boost it gives me during the 10K on Saturday.

The difference between "banned" and "suspended" on this site is you can still read the site (and "like" posts) when you're suspended. If you're banned you have to log out completely to be able to even read the site.

A suspension is temporary, a ban can be either temporary or permanent. Outside of a mod making an announcement, there's no way to know if a ban is permanent until enough time goes by that it becomes self-evident.

Sometimes members are suspended with a "ban" because it prevents them from reporting posts.

After all these years I have yet to be banned or suspended so I've always wondered what the hell the difference was. I take pride in never dealing with that haha.

Since 09 I've been banned from different sites over a dozen times and have been suspended from this site twice, I think.

Interesting to see how the post office works. I had two separate orders at Best Buy, they ship them out at the same time.

Thursday: Pre-Shipment Info Sent to USPS, USPS Awaiting Item; Accepted at USPS Origin Facility (Shepherdsville, KY); Arrived at USPS Origin Facility (Louisville, KY).

Friday: In Transit to Destination.

And then that's where the similarities end.

One order has this:

Friday: Arrived at USPS Destination Facility, Departed USPS Facility, Arrived at USPS Facility.

Saturday: Departed USPS Facility, Arrived at Post Office, Sorting Complete, Out for Delivery, Delivered, In/At Mailbox.

The other package is still "In Transit to Destination" and I'm not expected to receive it until Tuesday.

Suspended means you're bacially on a time out and can't post for however long the suspension is. Banned means you are done forever and won't be able to ever post again.

Not quite true. As iScottie posted earlier, a suspension means you cannot post, but have most other site privileges, including the ability to report posts. A ban can be either temporary or permanent. A ban means you cannot interact with the forums at all or report posts.

I went to IMDB to see what you were talking about. If you have the same key words in all your signatures on all the boards you post on, then all your accounts can be easily found and tied back to you.
