Bill Gates has give away a lot more than his own products. He didn't have to participate in the Reddit Secret Santa but did. He made someones Christmas and also got some positive PR for the Surface product line.

Getting hundreds of dollars of merchandise for a secret Santa with a low buy in is pretty awesome regardless of how much he is worth. There is no billionaire who has given away more than Bill Gates.
Hitler killed a lot of Jews, but he also painted. If I were to ask about his paintings and someone said, "They suck because he killed Jews", it'd be the same sentiment as you bringing up what Gates has donated, despite what I'm actually asking you. To me, paying off a random person's home or car is awesome, but giving away free shit you already have access to is lazy. I mentioned his wealth in this context, not out of entitlement.

If you were a billionaire, what would your secret Santa gift to someone be?

So what? That's not what I asked.

So what? That's not what I asked.
You're going to use Hitler for your analogy...Really? Gates has done way more for people than paying off one person's house or car each year. As for your last question I have no clue. Can't really put myself in that position. However I sure as hell wouldn't have donated $37 billion to charities. Tell me what other billionaires have given away in a secret Santa they didn't need to participate in....I'll wait.

If you really need someone to explain to why giving someone thousands of dollars of product is "awesome"...there's no use in actually trying to explain it. You even immediately went full Godwin's Law. Not really surprised tho.

If you really need someone to explain why giving away products that are free by the ton for Gates, requires no thought at all...there's really no use in actually trying to explain it. Godwin's law isn't a real thing, you do understand that right? I mentioned Hitler in the correct context of a point I was making, and you went full retard about it. Not really surprised tho.

I thought as people like to say. when giving away gifts. it's the thought that counts. So just cause you have a obscene amount of money you're suppose to buy a extra expensive gift?

Haha you're sure hung up on that fact that some of the stuff was his product. Gee what explains this none Microsoft stuff from this year and last year's?

Oh and if you can read what the one sign says it mentions he makes a donation to a charity in the recipients name. So are you still hung up on his gifts not being good enough?

Apparently everyone doesn't think that way. Here isn't the only place I've read craziness like "he should've bought them a car or a house".

Your sarcasm seeps on through... Anyway what is wrong with a donation in your name? How in the world is helping another human being and it done in your name a bad thing? I just don't get it. You sure as hell sound entitled to me even if you claim you're not? And hey you didn't seem to answer about all the none Microsoft items. I didn't even post pictures of the iPads and such which is a DIRECT competitor. But hey he's rich so you obviously deserve tons.

Aren't you the same poster who pondered about my soul because you desperately wanted my attention and got suspended for your posts? Trying to poorly come back at me with my own comments isn't going to work. You should know that by now.

Be honest, that's all I'm asking. There is a difference in receiving a gift some may believe is beneath them and a gift we're just pissed off because. If you were a billionaire, a freaking Billionaire, don't you think you'd spend a little more time contemplating than products you already have access to, or gifts that make YOU feel good about yourself, like donations in your name? That's all I was getting at.

People aren't under an obligation to do anything. That's the point here. He gives out millions a year, donates to hospitals, brings toys and computers to underprivileged kids...and yet here we are debating a Reddit Secret Santa gift he had no obligation or need to participate in.

Yeah, that was me.
Well considering he took time to seek out several Zelda themed gifts for a Zelda fan kinda tells me he did take his time looking for good gifts. Out of all of his gifts over the years he personalizes the box with things that person likes and many/most boxes don't even have Microsoft items in them. The dude is willing to give Apple and Nintendo products which are direct competitors. He isn't just stuffing the box full of Microsoft stuff, but hey believe what you want.

I'm completely honest in the fact that his gifts are awesome. He is obligated to give nothing above the minimum amount...Which he far surpasses. The guy has tons on his plate and actually selects items that person wants. I can't understand what is bad about that in any way.

No disrespect intended, but trinkets aren't my idea of awesome, and apparently they are for you. Just a difference of opinion man.

This is the stupidest thing I've read on here this year. And just in time for Christmas! What a gift!

A+ trolling, though. I'll give you that.
