I shaved off my 4 month old beard on Saturday, I still reach for my chin to do phantom stroking. Going to shave off the mustache as well at some point this weekend.

Hearing aids certainly came a long way. I remember seeing people with hearing aids in the 1980s strapped around their neck. Imagine an iPod with earbuds. Now they are so small, they’re nearly invisible.

Heh it was a battery issue, really need to learn to check the expiration date on these things when I buy some in-store. Hopefully I'll remember next time and just stick good batteries in my car instead. Oh well, at least it was a $17 mistake and I spend most of Friday at work listening to my beats play phone music anyway. I had hearing aids in the 80s, they were the gross behind the ear kind and loved to constantly whistle.

Extremely jealous, my job doesn't allow facial hair behind a neatly shaven creeper 'stache, which I happily sport every Movember. But if that rule ever changes, I'll have me a nice Gandolf to show the Man just how much he was holding me down.

Isn’t there something in the constitution about freedom of expression? You should sue, claiming unconstitutional work environment.

I have no one to blame but myself. We sign away that right when we go management. It's in our management commitment under professional appearance. I honestly don't see the rule being around much longer. I see a lot of changes happening around my company now with the greatest generation almost all gone and Baby Boomers coming up on retirement.

I read once that a clean shaven face displays confidence, comfort in one's skin and a dedication to hygiene and appearance. Which all makes sense and can give off a favorable first impression especially in the work place.

it wasn't insinuating that having a beard gives off the opposite impression. But if you think about it, it does sort of make sense. Beards are somewhat the male equivalent of makeup for women in the sense that it can be used to cover imperfections or enhance self image, therefore giving self confidence.

It's been over a week since I quit energy drinks and cut down on soda a lot. I used to drink 2 energy drinks just to get through the work day, and would be up until 4-5am every night struggling to sleep. Now I'm getting tired at 11pm-12am thankfully. I can usually get through the work day now with some water and slight green tea.
