I'm just happy there's finally a release date! Ico & Shadow of the Colossus were such unique, artistic games with fascinatingly mysterious settings that packed an emotional punch when you got to the endings. Really excited for The Last Guardian.

Yes. For me anyway, Colossus is the game that makes this one an instant buy. The wait is rewarded with the PS4 upgrade from PS3. |

Not unexpected, but I am so glad they're doing a statue for this collector's edition! Not only that, but it looks like resin. And a steelbook & art book too? Hell yea!
I remember little me getting excited about seeing this in Game Informer back in middle school... It has held out all these years! So incredibly excited for this, happy it is FINALLY here! |

My biggest wonder after this is what will Team ICO do next? Depending on the success of this game, will they actually make their own game or could the studio be shutdown/merged with others? (I realize they are a section within Japan Studio... correct?

Many of the SOTC staff left during development, and Fumito Ueda is given a contract with just enough time to push TLG to release. And from the way it looks, I don't think it will score critically well. The excruciating long development time and the platform switch from PS3 to PS4 will contribute to its downfall. All the goodwill earned from SOTC will be lost. This might have looked great on PS3, but now it looks like an average PS3 remastered game on PS4. My point is, for Ueda to develop his next game, TLG has to be a smash hit, a financial success. Otherwise, I'd have a hard time seeing Sony entrusting him to develop another game. |

^ Ah ok!
I know people love their graphics and such, as do I, but the game doesn't look THAT bad to me visually. I know this will be a brand new PS4 game, but it's history should speak for itself. I've seen some comparisons and it definitely looks better than it did on PS3. As well, in 2009 one of my favourite games was released: Infamous. It wasn't pushing the PS3 graphically, but I loved it still the same since it was so fun and had amazing world building. But I don't expect every gamer in the world to be open minded. ![]() |

Game looks really good in gameplay and graphics, with all of the feathers flickering in the wind.

If you enjoy open worlds to explore, Colossus is all about finding 12 or so giant monster statues to awaken and defeat in an effort to save your deceased girlfriend. You can go on foot but your horse is a big help in getting around. Most times though, you have to climb onto the giant monster and stab into its weak spot while managing your grip so you don't fall off. Epic experience. The exploration part is a bit dry, in that there aren't many enemies at all in the open world, but that's part of the charm of the game. This one looks closer in style to Ico, in that you may need your friend to help solve the puzzles and get through the game. Kind of like in Uncharted 4, where Nate's brother Sam plays a big role in getting up unreachable ledges. Not sure how open this map will be in The Last Guardian. ![]() I wonder if he'll split off or create another one. His games are often cited as works of interactive art by the critics, so I can imagine we'll see more in the future. |
