Hey guys I have a problem and I never noticed it before.

This is Lossless DTS-HD Master 6.1 right?

My Onkyo TX-NR809 inputs it as DTS-HD Master 6.1 but it outputs it as DTS-ES Matrix 7.1

I know my receiver can handle it. LOTR and all other DTS-HD 6.1 all play fine and they out put at DTS-HD 7.1

I am really confused

I don't think so. I cycled through all of the audio setting on both the player(PS3 and PS4) and the receiver. Also like I said LOTR players right.

I do believe that this is a 5.1EX mix and NOT a discrete 6.1 mix, but DTS insisted on it being called 6.1. So your receiver is doing what it's being told, i.e. applying the matrixing to the centre-rear channel, while genuine 6.1/7.1 discrete mixes are playing as they should. Your receiver (and possibly your player) may report the signal as being a 6.1 mix but that's due to the metadata employed by DTS.

I acquiesced, and so of course half of the players we later tested the disc on displayed "5.1"... DTS says that older players will likely do that, but the newer equipment should correctly display it as "6.1". My PS3 displays it as 5.1 as well.

The only sucky thing is that it doesn't look as good as the new T1 blu-ray that came out last year.

In spite of the new color tint and the lack of the original mono, I loved seeing how gorgeous T1 looks on that BD, which only made the quality of T2 shamefully inferior.

Wasn't The Terminator: Remastered this year, 2014?

Any new info on T2 being remastered? I was hoping they would have something to tie in with the upcoming new movie.

I watched Robocop and the first Terminator last night on BD but woke up later and couldn't go back to sleep so I put T2 on from netflix. Robocop and The Terminator are still classics but I found T2 hard to get through. The FX still hold up well but the violence is what gets me now. In the original Terminator Ahnuld is the bad guy but in T2 the violence is just too much. When they are escaping the psyche hospital and Ahnuld pulls the cop out of the car and smashes him face first into a beam am I supposed to laugh? I don't mind the violence in the Friday The 13th, Halloween or Nightmare On Elm Street films when annoying teens are being massacred but the violence in T2 strikes a nerve. My brother and I probably watched T2 every day over the summer that it was released in the theater and I wore out the VHS tape but perhaps I have just outgrown the film.
