I would really like to see a remaster of T2. It still holds up as a very good movie. I was tempted to order the UK version to replace my Skynet, but as I said earlier, probably should just wait for a new transfer.

Yep, both True Lies and The Abyss are both non-anamorphic.

I imported the Region 2 True Lies DVD so that I could at least watch a 16x9 enhanced version.

The Japanese DVD of True Lies was true anamorphic (not upscaled) with DTS sound. It's probably the best NTSC DVD release. Vudu currently has an HD version that looks quite nice.

Someone said the new transfer to True Lies runs on HBO. Anyone hear of that?

I've not checked for the 'third cut' which is basically just the extended cut with a cheesy ending as far as I'm aware. The theatrical & extended cuts are both on seperate discs.

I guess so because it's not available to purchase. It didn't show up searching for it.

I've seen True Lies bradcasted in HD, but the broadcasts are cropped to fill the screen. In any case I'm willing to bet that the D-VHS is the best way to watch the film.

In the UK we get oar and open matte depending on channel, but yes the vhs is better as the compressing is rather well done, plus the sound trumps broadcast
