Aniplex USA does not have the license to Mardock Scramble, and they've never gotten a title from Aniplex Japan for free, they always have to bid, even if they're the only ones as they typically have first right of refusal. Anyway, it is a shame that Aniplex catalog titles are basically stuck being OOP or never licensed. Aniplex Japan is now allowing companies not Aniplex USA to license newer titles, but there's sadly been no movement on catalog titles.

Here's the info for all three FR Kaze Mardock Scramble.
The DC and TC are included on all three discs as seperate files. Video quality is okayish, bad grain management on anything that isn't an i-frame but overall still quite watchable due to the movie's look, might post caps later. Movie 1 has JP, FR and IT audio on the DC, JP and EN on the TC. Movie 2 and 3 have JP and FR on the DC, JP only on the TC. Hopefully some of the experts more familiar with the situation can email Sentai to fix the judder. I don't know if Sentai has ever used AstroRes (if anyone besides Discotek is allowed to use it so far) but maybe that could improve the look of the season 1 upscale too. |

Has anyone seen the new Studio Ghibli box set? If so, how do they compare?
