You are absolutely right. Tom Rothman, the CEO of Sony Pictures, of former 20th Century Fox "fame" is notoriously hated by his co-workers and is said to have butted heads with Ang Lee quite a few times on Billy Lynn about the HFR.

And their marketing is just no bueno, just take a look at the horrendous Passengers promo with the Imagine Dragons song, it's laughable.

Interesting article. They say the LG "usually" displays 8 bit color. That's extremely vague. Curious how it handles a 4k blu ray.

What sucks is that Hulu is stereo only, and the output of both the XBOX One S and PlayStation Pro don't allow for post processing, so you can't even get Dolby Surround out of the films.

the 4K DCP was screened in Spielberg’s theater at Amblin Entertainment.

The Barco version is an extraction from the full 6K image which extends all the way across the 6144 horizontal pixels. The 2.76 version is a 4k extraction of the full 6K RED Dragon image.

Episode VIII was rumored to be filming some scenes near me around the first of the year, but with production having wrapped, I'm thinking the rumor was just that.

This may seem like a dumb question but why do these movies come with a Blu ray disc? Why not a DVD? If you are watching the 4k Disc what do you need the blu ray disc for? You aren't popping it in your car to watch. Just curious what their thoughts were on this. Especially kids movies where you want to use the DVD for the car.

the blu ray has the movie on it plus all the extras. UHD is just the movie.

dvds for the car? i havent touched a dvd in over 8 years! why not use blu ray in the car :P
