Psychic Prediction

Just seen a trailer or a new movie called "Passengers" with J-LAW and Pratt. I thought, wow the graphics look good in this movie and it would look great in 4k.

Movie comes out 12-21, and looks to be a sony/columbia movie. Most of those combos are already out on 4k BD including Chappie, ghostbusters, angry birds, sausage party, inferno, magnificant 7, the shallows, risen, the 5th wave, etc.

so looking into the movie, filmed on the Arri Alexa 65, 6.5k source, with a 4k DI.

sony website confirms 4k DCP.

This movie should look marvelous on 4k blu ray.

Not even spiderman can save this movie. I predict a flop.

I guess I wasn’t clear with the question; my query to your crystal ball was more of a technical nature. I was asking if your psychic sense predicts a 2K or 4K DCP (theatrical deliverable) with Silence - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0490215/...ef_=tt_dt_spec

Quick question for a new 4K TV owner about to purchase a 4K Blu Ray player. Which 4K UHD's should I be sure to purchase besides the obvious ones? I'm talking about the nature stuff like EXTREME Adventure Collection and the upcoming Planet Earth II. Is there one in that category I should absolutely get?

I was being overly scaracastic

My prediction was merely a 4k blu ray reference quality release based on the facts I read. However with the above movie, not sure it'll get a 4k release.

“Not sure”? You don’t speculate about these things on the forums? Hell, there are even ‘anticipation’ threads devoted to making speculative comments about yet to be released TVs, players, Ultra HD Blu-rays, dynamic metadata, etc.

Ray, the Director here is Steven Spielberg! If you won’t take a stab at it then how ‘bout helping out member kyloren with a recommendation to his above query.

^ Unfortunately , this cover and companion article -> http://www.theasc.com/site/news/inco...r-issue-of-ac/ won’t redeem the theatrical deliverable fiasco with regards to interested audiences not getting the opportunity to see the premium (http://www.film-tech.com/cgi-bin/ubb...002838/p1.html) formats.

But alas, it is what it is

Flight of the butterflies and rocky Mountain express are superb 4k HDR discs visually.

I haven't seen extreme nature collection, it doesn't have HDR but others have said it looks good.

Yes, sorry for the Director misstatement as I’ve had Spielberg on my mind recently. It was Scorsese, obviously…. http://www.rte.ie/entertainment/2016...35291-silence/ . Nevertheless, point to ray stands that speculation is rampant everywhere, even from the likes of wild Bill….

Independence Day: Resurgence is another recent example.
