That's actually the one you should watch before Endgame.

I'm sure this will look and sound amazing on 4k disc, but I was on the verge of dozing off at the cinema. It's fun, but over-rated.

I LOVED that bit.
[Show spoiler]2023 Cap's reaction is absolutely priceless: "yeah yeah, I know!"

The callback was done perfectly in Civil War. It would've been overkill to have him say it to Thanos or someone.
[Show spoiler]Better the way it's used in Endgame in my opinion.

Agreed. If it had been used in a 100% earnest way yet again it still would've been cool but we've had so many of those moments with Cap in this series already. The way that they used it was fun without being disrespectful.

Just saw this a second time and it was just as good, and in some ways better, the second time around. It was interesting to see what beats landed differently with a different audience. Some moments that got a big reaction the first time got nary a response this time, and vice versa. One moment that drew audible gasps both times though was
[Show spoiler]Cap wielding Mjolnir
.

There are just so many damn moments in this movie that make me want to jump out of my seat. Gosh I can't wait to get my mitts on this UHD.

I saw this Friday night in IMAX and the theater ROARED during that entire sequence. I can’t say that’s happened many times.

Yeah, such a special moment in the series. And a great payoff to a small moment during

[Show spoiler]They used it as a joke when he fought younger Cap, so yeah, they weren't gonna use it again.
Altough, if you're talking about that moment where his shield is broken, and he stands alone against Thanos, yeah, that would've been great. But the moment vs younger Cap was fun too.
We can't have both.

Just watched this for the second time, yesterday. It's the first time I went to see a movie twice, and I loved every second of it, yet again. Don't remember the last time I saw a 3h picture, where I was glued to the screen, from start to finish.

And also, something I noticed 2nd time viewing is
[Show spoiler]how great Avengers 1 would look with a 2:35 ratio. It would probably mess up with the composition, but damn, I'm a sucker for letterbox. It always annoyed me seeing "full screen".
The 4k version helped a little with the colours, but It always looked a little cheap.
Which is weird, because a lot of my favorite movies have a 1:85 ratio and I don't mind it.
Must be a Super-hero movie thing.

I almost jumped out of my seat. I also love
[Show spoiler]how this scene implies how much Cap has grown. I think his unresolved trauma and post-Avengers disillusionment with SHIELD caused him to lose his way a bit, but he gets back on track after the Snap.

I am a big comic fan so since the first avengers movie I was praying for that moment.

"Back on track?" Cap's arguably the only one who's always been on-track.

My review (spoilers):
[Show spoiler]I saw my first ever movie at a Dolby Cinema last night. I made it in time to catch the Dolby Cinema spiel. Right off the bat, the sound on that was incredible. The bass and everything had the seats rocking and really sounded great. You really felt the sound and the bass. Then the movie started and things were different. The sound wasn't as rocking as the demo. It's another "atmouse" mix from Disney. Some stuff was pretty powerful such as when Tony throws the bowl or what not early on in the movie. That made me jump. And the dialogue was crisper than the other times I had seen it. I could make out more of what was said this time around.

Still, nowhere near what the sound should be if the demo is to be proven right. Now for the picture. This is where the theater excelled. It was a far better picture than the other theater I saw this at earlier in the week. Dolby Vision really added a lot more detail to the picture with some examples below:

- Thor's eyes are much detailed and you can see the different colors of the eyes now.
- The colors on the costumes really stand out and are much more vivid.
- The lightning coming from Thor and
[Show spoiler]Captain America
is so much more vivid and detailed
- The clarity and detail throughout the scenes are really impressive.
- The scar/bruising on Cap's right cheek is way more noticeable on this viewing. I didn't even see it before.

All in all, the picture quality was truly stunning and is the best way to view this movie. There was just a lot of little things that all added to make this one hell of a movie experience. I swear up and down that is a true "4K picture" even though it is not. Amazing quality throughout. It's really up to Disney at this point to deliver on the UHD. They certainly delivered on the theatrical presentation. For the most part. This would look great on UHD, but Disney does not do Dolby Vision so that's going to hurt the movie and their 'Atmouse" mix sucks so there's that. Dolby Cinema is the best way to experience this movie and will be my preferred viewing choice for big movies. My final Dolby Cinema rating: A+

Cap changed a lot after he got defrosted. In First Avenger the doc asks him if he enlisted to kill Nazis and he replies he doesnt like bullies. By the the time we get to Winter Soldier, Cap is a man who likes fighting and does it for an organization he doesn't trust because fighting wars is all he knows. Remember when Cap took off his helmet and put down the shield to fight Batroc? He was enjoying himself.

Civil War Cap takes it further and claims his ability to wage war on his own terms is his right. Even when over a hundred nations are asking for it, Cap's arrogance keeps him from seeing how oversight and accountability are necessary. Protecting Bucky is the right thing to do, but he betrayed Tony to do it. The most damning thing about Cap's point of the view is the fact that he doesn't accomplish anything that couldn't have been done after signing the accords. Bringing Bucky in could've been done officially and without giving Zemo the fight he wanted.

Cap is good man, but not a flawless one. Sometimes being good isn't enough. Sometimes you f up with the best intentions. All that drama makes his journey in Endgame all the more satisfying for me.

Good review.

And do people want an accurate Dolby Cinema audio mix on the UHD disc, or just an exaggerated LFE mix that is demo worthy?
