I hope:
1) this is true
2) Disney doesn’t screw this up like they did Pirates…
3) the director’s cut is included
4) my wife calms down

If not…
You tell him I’m coming! And hell’s coming with me! Hell’s coming with me!

Johnny Ringo- "And you must be Doc Holliday."
Doc Holliday : "That's the rumor."

It’s awesome.

Release day can’t come soon enough. Let’s hope it’s a stellar release with all the bonus features and top notch picture and sound quality.

One more quote for the hell of it!

Wyatt Earp "Go ahead, skin it! Skin that smokewagon and see what happens!"

Yee haw!

I'm thinking the 4K disc will just be the movie and the Blu-ray will be a repackage. I don't even think the added scenes from the DVD will be separate like they were on the laserdisc. I'm fine with it not having Atmos as Disney isn't exactly good with Atmos anyways. I don't own the Blu-ray, but the 5.1 from what I have read is perfectly fine. I'll read the reviews before picking it up if it will be worth it or not.

Are we ever going to get Kurt Russell's true director's cut?

Oh, I found that years ago. It was under my couch. I keep peanut butter M&M's in it.

So... your move, Kurt.

I'm wondering how long before there is an official press release? I'm keeping my happiness level down until i see that so i know it's real-real.

Could be fake news. If it's true it better be sourced from the OCN. The blacks on the BR are a bit too crushy.

I want this as much as anyone, but not sure why everyone's getting so excited when the OP ends with this:

Per Dawn of the Discs
Until there's real confirmation from reputable sources, I'm not getting my hopes up.

Are ‘per dawn of the discs’ muppets then?

Sadly it’s been reported it’s the theatrical cut only. Let’s hope still it’s a great transfer and doesn’t follow in the footsteps of POTC

this is the kind of 4k release news that I get most excited about---

instead of a movie that's already been released several times on blu ray and has a perfectly good version circulating---

Tombstone was a much criticized release back in the day and a movie that I would have upgraded to a remastered blu-- getting a 4k release is exciting news indeed!

I want the OG Dolby Surround from the Laserdisc.

Film wasn't released theatrically in 5.1.
